Created by Diablo Dam, the lake is located between Ross Lake and Gorge Lake on the Skagit River at an elevation of 1,201 feet (366 m) above sea level. The unique, intense turquoise hue of the lake's water is attributed to the surrounding glaciers that grind rocks into a fine powder that is carried into the lake through creeks. The economy room was very small, claustrophobic, uncomfortable for me. When the room was booked I wasn’t made aware of what the rooms condition would be. It did have a small fridge, microwave, tv with satellite, shower that was ok, double bed with hard pillows. Couldn’t open the curtains as others could see in. It was an old motel set up. Wouldn’t recommend it."
