"The room was very stale smelling when we first entered. As if it had been cleaned, but days or weeks before we inhabited it. It made us feel like the room was dirty. The shower head’s pressure was terrible, it shot toward one specific spot so that we had to shower right up against the wall to avoid our faces and hair getting soaked. Maintenance was called, but nothing had changed. Requested a new room, but they were “booked” up. The ventilation in the room was also non existent: Literally everything in the room was damp once the shower was used. I’m surprised not everything in the room had mildew or mold (though it’s probably been painted over.) They don’t have free breakfast nor have they properly fixed this false advertising on third party websites. Their location is very close to fun things to do in San Diego, but the uncleanliness of the room turned us off from even relaxing or wanting to sleep in the room. We slept on top of the comforter with a blanket we purchased from Walmart. We will never stay at this location or possibly any “seaside” Best Western again. Trust this review and not all the ones claiming the rooms were so clean and orderly, that’s what gipped me into booking with Best Western."
