Red Roof Inn Norwich

10/10 Excellent

"We weren't exactly searching to stay at a Red Rook Inn, as our hope was to stay at a high end hotel or Inn but with the baseball hall of fame activities taking place and the horse races in Saratoga were in full swing, the options were not plentiful, so we went with this Red Roof Inn in the town of Norwich. When we arrived, the locale essentially on the main street of this town did not exactly raise our expectations, near did, quite frankly, the Inn's exterior which isnt bad but you know when you arrive you're staying at an economy hotel. But when we went in this is what we discovered. 1. STAFF WERE BEYOND HELPFUL, KIND AND RESPONSIVE 2. EVERYTHING WAS IMMACULATE INCLUDING THE ROOMS OR RATHER ESPECIALLY THE ROOMS...ALL OF IT. 3. IT WAS QUIET EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FILLED AND ON THE ONE OCCASION WHEN IT BECAME LOUD DUE TO YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE LATE EVENING A SIMPLE REQUEST AT THE FRONT DESK ENDED THE DISTURBANCE 4. THE MATTRESS WAS FANTASTIC AND OFFERED A GREAT NIGHTS REST SO NICE IN FACT WE INQUIRED ABOUT THE BRAND Lastly, we were so happy we stayed in Norwich. It is a small town with beautiful old Victorian homes, many of which need a fair amount of work, making it clear the town has far better days but the people of Norwich are clearly fighting to bring it back. There are good places to eat and it has a--- go back in time---warm feel about it. So all in all---this is a great place to stay."

"Daryl, the host is what you’d want every host to be @ a rental that is everything you’d want a rental to be! Daryl was professional & kind, thoughtful, responsive, friendly, & ready to attend to anything that may come up or that you need/need help with. He had a wagon to use to transfer your luggage from the car to the door of the cabin. It was safe, well lit, clean, relaxing, well stocked, clear signage, the mattress was so comfortable- more so than the one I have @ home lol! It was clean & fresh & there were no unpleasant odors. There was an electric kettle for tea & a Keurig with coffee pods, a microwave, a small toaster oven, paper plates & cups and flatware, as well as common large utensils, a corkscrew, and a upright water dispenser with filtered water. There were also 2 comfortable wingback chairs with 2 tv trays available, a large tv hung on the wall with Roku for streaming in various apps that you can use your password to log into. There was an efficient window AC & all the windows opened and closed easily with good screens & had light blocking curtains. The decor was nice & well themed to a cabin, & was not overkill. The bathroom was pristine and easy to use. Outside, there was a small porch with lights and hanging baskets, a good sized picnic table with umbrella, an independent porch swing, a fire-pit with 4 chairs, a hammock, and the quiet peace of trees nearby. All I’d even think so suggest was maybe a few more hooks, & some shelves to use in the bathroom."

Quality Inn & Suites Binghamton Vestal

"Parking was easy to access and seemingly secure. Hotel lobby is tiny with below grade furniture. (We were there with a group, so that was less awesome.) Check-in/check-out desk was convenient. Breakfast was very nice, clean, and what was to be expected. Carpets were very old, very worn, and maybe not clean (hard to tell cleanliness due to age). Beds were not comfortable, but bedding all seemed very clean and well taken care of. Seating in hotel room was very nice. There was mold growing up about three inches on the shower curtain. The A/C worked once we figured out how to turn it on. "

"This well loved home offers a peaceful space with lots of privacy. If you appreciate a comfortable place that takes you back in time- this is it. The screened in porch is perfect for an early morning cup of coffee. If you are lucky, you may see some beautiful horses grazing in the pasture."
