The hotel is in a great location, Broad St, right in the centre of Oxford. A few minutes walk from famous buildings, well known watering holes, bus and train station ,plus a great selection of eateries.
The area infront is pedestrianised with seating and when there in July, large raised beds planted with grass so you can sun yourself as if in a park.
There are narrow twisting stairs to reception and 1st and 2nd floors, but we were aware of this and with a light case each we managed well.
Staff were polite,friendly and helpful.
Our room was large, airy and clean. Good sized bathroom with walk in shower. TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Also a fan which we used at night.
Being at the front there was some noise from the voices of people using the social area mentioned and also early morning street cleaning, but it didn't bother us.
Again we knew no breakfast was provided, but lots of nearby cafes gave a good choice to eating out.
Due to Covid the room wasn't cleaned until we left. If we had wanted it cleaned we had to arrange a time with the hotel. There was a notice about this at reception, but better if the was a notice in each room.
Rooms were fine, though it would have been nice to have a full length mirror, say inside the wardrobe door. Also a small fridge would be useful. Those are just wee additions which would improve the facilities in the future.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely use "The Buttery' again. Thank you!
