Horseback riding for adults and children is available right in Bison Ranch so you don\`t have to go anywhere else to do it. There are also family discounts available. The kids can also hook a winner in the catch-and-release fishing pond, and there is a playground for the kids . You\`ll also find a volleyball court, basketball court. Several of the merchants offer a discount at their establishments when staying in our cabins. The first one is for horseback riding ( Wayne ). Just need to let us know when and how many people will be horseback riding and he offers 5 % off when staying in one of our cabins . The second one is Casa Ramos Restaurant. He is giving a dollar off the first House Margarita . We have coupons for that .we will send you those coupons when you rent one of our cabins . We have a caterer that will deliver for free to any of our cabins . You just pay him for the food directly. We have a 10 % discount at the escape room .we now have a company in Overgaard that rents out RZR . You get a discount there . Will explain once booked There are several lakes surrounding the Heber / Overgaard area : Woods Canyon Lake , 20 miles west of the cabin . Willow Springs Lake , 15 miles west of the cabin . Black Canyon Lake , 10 miles west of the cabin . Show Low Lake , 30 miles east of the cabin . They are stocked periodically with fish . Each lake has several species of fish .There are boat rentals at some of the lakes. When bringing a dog to the cabin please read other notes below. All of the cabin is accessible to you. You can call us anytime if you have questions or need something. Bison Ranch is ideally located to explore all the attractions and activities in the area including horseback riding to ancient petroglyphs, hiking through the tall pines and mountain biking rugged trails through flowering deserts, ancient rock art sites, fishing, boating and much more. Important notes- Bison Ranch is a quiet and friendly cabin community where local residents enjoy their peace and quiet in the evenings. No loud noises/music after 8pm please so as not to disturb neighboring cabin residents. Please respect the neighbors as you would want to be treated . Relax and enjoy your mountain retreat. Pets - we only allow dogs . Dog\`s must be on a leash at all times outside of the cabin or fenced back yard and you must pick up any poop and deposit it in the trash or green doggie poop bins located around the subdivision. If you leave the dog in the cabin alone for any reason it must be in a dog crate so as not to damage anything in the cabin. No swimming or playing in the pond as they treat it to prevent algae etc. If you have any questions about this or anything else please call us. We really feel comfortable in the space. Kitchen has everything you may need to cook/bake. Nice fenced-in yard for our pets makes life easy. It is such a cute, cozy place. Beautiful fireplace, comfortable couches, big beds, a kitchen stocked with all the utensils and appliances you might need and an owner who cares and responds quickly to any needs or questions. A very nice, relaxing time away from it all. The front porch was nice to sit on, but the back was even more amazing... The pond was nice and you could hear the water running to it. Inside the cabin was just as relaxing and had everything we needed. We didn't want to leave..... I plan on booking this cabin a lot more in the coming years.... My dream is to retire up there some day.... Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your cabin and the kind hospitality of our booking and making sure we were all taken care of... We spent three nights at the Bear Pond Cabin, and it was fantastic. The cabin was like staying at a beloved relative’s house. It was outfitted and decorated as you would your own home. The kitchen was spotless and well equipped. The master bedroom had a very comfortable king size bed with awesome sheets that were soft and warm. The big bedroom window had a great view of the trees in their autumn colors. The living room had very comfortable leather furniture and a switch-lighting gas fireplace. The bathrooms were very clean with good, high pressure and instant hot water. There was even a carved bear toilet paper holder, which counters the idea that a bear does you-know-what in the woods. Both the front and rear porches were great places to relax and have morning coffee. The fenced back yard had a fire pit with seating area and a propane grill. The neighborhood is very quiet with mostly senior owner-residents. The community area was well kept with a tennis court, basketball court and a pond full of fish; I caught at least 40 on a fly rod in one afternoon; mostly small blue gill and one bass. For big trout fishing, Silver Creek is just 50 minutes to the east, 5 miles past Show Low. Heber is a small population town located in a quiet, picturesque part of northern Arizona halfway between Payson and Show Low. The area is fairly flat with a lot of pine trees and open meadows. It’s not an exciting party place, but more suited for a relaxing get away from the heat and busy pace of Phoenix or Tucson. We would definitely like to stay here again. ##### Fred M.
