Love the house and location. This is our second time staying here. We had a small issue with the smoke alarm going off and it stressed out our dogs otherwise we had a great time!! Highly recommend this home!!!

Lovely weekend spot
Gathered with two friends for a getaway weekend, and the house was a lovely spot for that. The hosts had great communication and there were so many thoughtful touches. The house was clean and cozy, a great spot for some R&R on a rainy weekend.

The sunny cottage was a great gem to stay at while we were visiting our nephew at W.P. It was super close to campus and town. The place had everything we needed plus. The owners were so helpful and quick to respond with information about the town or anything else we needed. We will be back!

Racing weekend
The Sunny Chalet met my expectations. This was the second time I've stayed here. The hosts communicated well with me and relayed local weekend activities. My family enjoyed a nice fire in the back yard one night. Enjoyed nearby Knoxville Raceway and Marshalltown Speedway. Took in the Tassel Ridge Winery and the Nearwood winery in Knoxville. Great weekend getaway. The Sunny Chalet is clean, spacious and welcoming!

Moving son into Penn

Quick get away.
We enjoyed our stay while making a quick trip to Iowa. Our primary reason for the trip was a return visit to Winterset. We stayed closer on prior visits so we wanted to explore a new town. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

It was so nice sitting back and relaxing at the Sunny Chalet. Every thing we needed was provided for us. The host were very attentive to our needs. Plenty of room and every thing worked! We will try to stay there again.

Clean, cozy home for a Visit to Oskaloosa!
I stayed at this clean and cozy home in mid-June of this year and really enjoyed my stay there. The house had all the conveniences and comforting decor as well. The kitchen sink window looking out at the large backyard ( with 4 Adirondack chairs & a fit pit) gave me a great Iowa-girl-returned- to-her-home-state feeling.. The computer area nook was a good spot for getting work and communications done while in town. I love the town of Osky! Their downtown area (w/ Eagle's Nest Christian bookstore--outstanding, and The Book Vault--also outstanding and beautiful city square is always a pleasing, interesting place to be. The local people are very helpful, friendly, to fun to talk to. I would stay again at this location in Oskaloosa and thank the hosts for their care and professionalism in offering this house for a comfy stay!

Very clean and cute home with everything you need!
This home was so cute and well thought out! It had everything we needed and was so clean! Would definitely recommend staying here! The VRBO site did not advertise correctly so there's only 2 beds and one queen blow-up (which was very comfy!). There is not a twin, unless you use the couch as a twin, which was also very comfortable. The owner was great to clear this up and even left extra sheets for the couch.

Great hosts!
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful three night stay. The house is adorable! Christian and Melissa went above and beyond to help with a problem that didn't have anything to do with them and we were very grateful. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Oskaloosa: Exploring another great Iowa town.
We had a wonderful stay at the Sunny Chalet. Location was very convenient to town, which is super charming with a beautiful town square (don't miss the Book Vault, great book store that is wonderfully merchandised). We came to Oskaloosa, IA for Easter weekend 2022 to spend time with a son who goes to Grinnell college. The 2 bedroom/ 1 bath home is pretty perfect for 4 people. Open concept kitchen and living room. The decor is really pretty and well themed throughout and very clean. Kitchen is well furnished and stocked with whatever you need for cooking and serving. The only thing we found a bit odd was that there was no back entrance to the home, although the back yard and fire pit area were appreciated. All in all, this was a really nice place to return to after a days worth of exploring. Thanks so much to our hosts!

I enjoyed a nice, relaxing 4 nights in Oskaloosa. It was extremely cold outside, but warm and cozy inside. The kitchen was equipped nicely. The Welcome Book provided area information, and I appreciated being able to use the Y to get some exercise indoors.

Gracious hosts, clean, quiet home and a wonderful shower! Kitchen was very well stocked and for a small town, there was much to do. Even when I inadvertently booked the wrong day as the end of our stay, the hosts were gracious as we stayed an extra day. Thankfully no one else was slated right after us. Great quick stay
My wife and I stayed with our two pups for the night while traveling. The place was fantastic and also would have been great for us for an extended stay. We enjoyed walking the dogs around the quiet neighborhood and they loved checking out all the smells in the nice yard.

My family and I had a very nice respite at this house. It's clean, bright, and decorated very tastefully. The kitchen was very functional. The decorations are tasteful, clean, and not overburdening or crowding. The hosts were especially accommodating towards us. You can tell they love having this home to offer to travelers. I especially loved the book and magazine selections they had throughout the house. I devoured one such book in 24 hours during our stay.

We stayed here for a week and were pleasantly surprised by the well equipped kitchen and the nice yard/backyard. Kids loved to play outside and make a fire in the fire pit or climb the tree in front of the house. There are also a few toys/games/books for kids. The bedrooms had a decent size and beds were comfortable. The furniture is very modern. Overall the house was very clean and the internet connection was good enough for zoom meetings etc. We had probably 258 flies in the house so I would recommend to install a screen on the front door. My kids loved chasing them but they can be annoying (and keeping the door closed when I prepare food and the kids play outside was not an option.). Most of the houses in the neighborhood need to be updated but we never felt unsafe and you have a walmart and another grocery store close by. Unfortunately there is not a lot to do in Oskaloosa but we knew that before. It was okay for the week we stayed. Check-in could have been better. I didn’t get the door code until I asked for them the same day we wanted to check in. I would have preferred if we would have gotten them at least the night before (we were on a roadtrip and you never know if you have a good internet connection). Once we had the code communication was easy with Chris and Melissa. In my opinion it’s the best rental in the area.

Perfect, Charming Sunny Chalet
Missy & Chris are excellent hosts at there charming property. It suited and checked all the boxes for our needs for our weekend get away. Never using VRBO I was a little nervous but that subsided before we even got settled. Their Sunny chalet inside and out is just perfection! We really had everything we needed, close to local businesses, area attractions. We truly loved this charming home and hope to be able to stay again. We were comfortable and content with everything that was offered. Pictures are beautiful online but the wow factor in person, excellent job Missy & Chris, thank you so very much! We just loved everything about your home & property and also getting aquatinted with Sunny Bunny outside.

Lovely stay at Sunny Chalet
We had a great time while staying here! The house was extremely clean and very nicely decorated! The appliances were new, clean, and made cooking really easy! The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pans, and all the utensils you will need while during your stay! My kids loved the games and activities that were provided! The flowers around the house are beautiful and the backyard had a fire pit we hope to enjoy on our next stay. So so much better than staying in a hotel!

Perfect Little Getaway
This was the perfect place for my sister-in-law and I to just get away. We weren't looking to do much but needed a change of scenery to veg out and catch up. The place was absolutely perfect, super cute, close to uptown restaurants and neighbors were really friendly and just a nice little place. Would strongly recommend to anyone!

So relaxing!
This place was the perfect getaway for my Wife and I! First of all it was ridiculously clean! Everywhere we sat was so comfortable also. We had everything we needed and all we had to do was relax.
