5-bedroom townhome with a screened plunge pool at Solterra Resort, near Disney

Five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms sleep 10 in this two-story townhome at gated Solterra Resort in Davenport, about 12 miles (a 20-minute drive) from Disney's Animal Kingdom. Your screened plunge pool opens off a covered lanai with a table for outdoor meals, and behind the screen an open lawn runs down to the lake. The children get a Frozen room, a Harry Potter room and a loft with a 60-inch TV. The resort clubhouse, a 14-minute walk away, has a pool with a waterslide, a lazy river and a hot tub.

THE HOME
Your own screened plunge pool sits behind the townhome, with sun loungers on the deck and a covered lanai with a dining table and ceiling fan. Pool towels are provided, as well as bath towels for the bathrooms. For families with little ones, there is a safety fence between the house and the pool. The lake behind the lawn has no fence. A half bathroom opens onto the lanai, so wet feet stay outside.

BEDROOMS
Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor; the other four are upstairs around the loft. Every bedroom has a smart TV.
Bedroom 1: queen bed, ground floor; the full bathroom beside it has a door from the bedroom and a door from the hall
Bedroom 2: queen bed, lake view, with a shower bathroom across the landing
Bedroom 3: king bed, lake view, with its own bathroom (two sinks and a shower), a walk-in closet and a 50-inch TV
Bedroom 4: two twin beds, Harry Potter theme
Bedroom 5: two twin beds, Frozen theme
Bedrooms 4 and 5 share the upstairs bathroom with a double vanity and a tub. The washer and dryer are in a closet off the loft.

LOFT
The upstairs loft has sofas, superhero art and a 60-inch smart TV, a place for the children to settle in the evening.

KITCHEN AND LIVING
The open-plan kitchen has granite counters, stainless steel appliances, a gas range and an island with bar stools, with a dining table beside it. The family room has a sectional sofa and a 65-inch smart TV. Wi-Fi is included.

GETTING IN
You let yourselves in with a personal door code on the keypad at the front door, which we send you before you arrive. Our local team looks after the home, and there is an on-call number for emergencies at any hour.

SOLTERRA RESORT
The resort clubhouse has a pool with a waterslide and waterfall, a lazy river, a hot tub, a covered pool patio, poolside cabanas to rent, a cafe, a fitness center, tennis courts, a sports field, walking trails and a children's playground. The resort entrance is gated. Solterra charges $35 per family per stay for the card that opens the clubhouse facilities, paid at the clubhouse. Up to 5 parking passes are issued per home.

GOOD TO KNOW
Pool heating is optional: $25 a night, with a 4-night minimum; ask before you arrive. The home does not come with a grill, but you can rent one for an extra fee. You arrive to a starter supply of coffee, soap, shampoo and conditioner, dishwasher tabs, laundry pods, trash bags and bathroom tissue; for a longer stay you will want to top these up. The clubhouse facilities are run by Solterra Resort and their opening hours can change. Smoking is allowed outside only, on the pool deck; please do not smoke inside the home.
