Windsor Island Resort

Overall the house was great. It was nice for my whole family to be under one roof. The resort was gorgeous. We didn't have to spend much money outside of the resort since the kids were so busy with putt putt, swimming, basketball and volleyball!

Great first impression as soon as we walked in this home, and it did not disappoint! Very clean, well organized , and cozy . Kids were amazed by there theme rooms . This was our 4th family trip in the area, and our favorite stay! Chris, Rhea and family

Great house and included amenities but terrible check in process

This is a great property, very clean and spacious and with a great pool. The water park resort that is walking distance is very nice with lots of activities included. The kitchen could be stocked a little better but the game room and beautiful themed rooms make up for it.The property manager does need to improve the check in process. It was very long and complex bc the names weren’t provided to the front security post on time so our friends could not enter the complex for over an hour. Communication with the host is very slow and unless I called the number provided by VRBO (not available in the listing) they wouldn’t respond on a timely basis. Eventually the problem was resolved and they were nice about it. However, the WiFi was not working when we entered the property and we had to reset it. The AC upstairs also was not working so a handyman had to be called to fix it. The handyman was very nice and eventually fixed it, even late at night, until it worked. We ended up having to go to bed past midnight after arriving very tired but all the problems were solved. I would stay here again but recommend the thermostat be moved outside of the HVAC closet where the hot water tank wouldn’t keep it warm, and improve the check in process with security.

Picked this property as we were looking for min. 6bd, pool table/game room, pool, spa, & resort access. Orig. listing did not state extra fees for the grill or spa heat. Auto charged for both & w/extra person fee (7ppl in 12 person home). Ppt mgr did refund those. But we didnt get spa heat or grill usage. Positives: Lg and overall beautiful home with plenty of space for 5 kids. Game rm was great for the rainy times. Nice patio with 2nd access from the master suite. TVs in every room and seperate family area upstairs was a bonus for the teens @ night. Island resort was very nice as it included many amenities (drinks/food are pricey). Neighborhood was quite at night. Ups & downs: many utensils and appliances for cooking but missing major items like baking sheets, pot holders/oven mitt, dish drying towel/rack. Dishwasher was nice but "heat dry" never worked. Definitely a great AC system but it was set at 70 w/ no way to change it (locked) & we ended up being pretty cold most of the time (teens bought sweats). Game room was great except all of the pool sticks were broke/no tips. which was a huge bummer since that was one reason for booking. Pool was a decent size and great temp. However when we arrived it was full of wads of hair (pool cleaner came on Tues). Negatives: biggest complaint is that the lock on the sliding door (pool) did not lock and no pool safety alarms (law in Florida?). Light/fan did not work in 1 room because remote was missing.

Overall this isn't a terrible house to stay in. Its clean and has plenty of space. The pool was decent. The amenities in the community are decent. However, getting into the neighborhood is a nightmare. The line to get through security is ridiculous. The management company failed to have our names on the list so we waited in line twice. The management company was not easy to get in touch with. Once they did finally call me(after sitting on the side of the road outside the entrance) they got our names on the list and blamed it on a technical issue. They gave us a 40 credit for the grill cleaning which we didn't even use. The video game in the game room doesn't work at all. The pool table is terrible. The bumpers need to be redone and every single cue had the tip broken off (They did have several new ones delivered to the house while we were there). There were also only 2 ping pong paddles which were terrible & only 1 ping pong ball. Lastly there is not enough kitchenware. If you are someone who enjoys cooking then this isnt the place for you. No baking sheets to be found anywhere. No large bowls for mixing. Etc. If you dont cook then this is not a big deal. One of the fan remotes turns on lights in other bedrooms which can wake you up in the middle of the night with your fan light coming on. Irritating to say the least. No we wouldnt stay here again based simply on the fact that it wasnt what we expected it to be like.
