My wife and I had an amazing stay at Hook's Nest. The posted pictures are not as grand as the actual stunning beauty in person. This house, this property, really is as good as it gets on Orcas. The house was clearly designed and built to flaunt the natural beauty around it while offering peace, privacy, and comfort. Three days of bliss was rejuvenating to our lives. I cannot say enough about this property on Orcas Island. It was even better than expected, and our expectations were already high. The setting is magnificent - with stunning sunrise/sunsets and ferries going by daily -- but the house itself is the best we've ever rented. It is perfect for a large family, with multiple gathering spaces. The attention to architectural detail and craftsmanship sets it apart, and the kitchen is remarkable. Amazing rental property secluded on orcas island. Had a family reunion here and thought it was amazing. Amazing amenities and we will definitely be staying here again. I will say on a hotter day (it was record temperatures in July) it can get hot on second floor because there is no AC. We used fans in closet and opened windows at night (cools off down into the 50s) and we were fine, but something to be aware of. Again I highly recommend this home to anyone traveling to orcas. Complete privacy yet close to the ferry and grocery store. The home was designed and constructed by architects and contractors of the highest caliber. Kitchen was completely equipped and all of the basic spices, condiments, cooking oils , etc. we’re in stock. The den had a large collection of DVDs and there were numerical TVs in the house, although we didn’t find the time to watch any. Indoor and outdoor fireplaces both functioned flawlessly. We had three adult couples and two teenagers and everyone had beautiful accommodations. Wonderful place to reconnect with your loved ones and your inner self. Best vacation rental we have ever booked and look forward to our next visit! ##### Tom T. Location was prime, the views exquisite, privacy abounds, it is so well stocked and supplied you’d be hard pressed to find a single item missing and with eight adults and one three yr old we cooked, slept, lounged, bbq’d, sat at the fire and admired the views from every angle and never went without. ##### sue h. The house is beautifully finished, immaculately clean, and well-stocked for a comfortable stay. Sherri, the host, was easy to get in touch with. The view is gorgeous. Then add in the home is beautiful and very comfortable. There is everything in the home you would need or want. Even more. There were interesting books in almost every room to enjoy. An added surprise. The deck made the perfect place to read and enjoy the stunning water view during down times.
