We explored the hiking paths with our dog and even saw a moose on the property one morning. The house was spacious and very comfortable. We loved playing the ring game on the screened in porch and the kids enjoyed the game room in the basement. We hiked Saddleback Mtn from the skislope, Bald Mountain, the AT to Piazza Rock, explored the many wildlife sanctuaries, enjoyed the views from Quill Hill and enjoyed an outstanding dinner at the Portage Taphouse. We pulled in at night in the pitch black, dropped or bags and went out back to star gaze. Spectacular clear sky and no light pollution made for amazing night views. We were so pleased with the decor and cleanliness of the spacious cabin. The cabin was plenty warm and the view across the marsh to the lake and the mountains, from the living/ dining room space was a great surprise in the morning. The kitchen had everything we wanted to cook up what we packed to make pancakes, bacon and coffee. We took a great 3 hour loop hike just 10 minutes from our cabin.
