"This hotel is nearly on 95. Super busy traffic noise all night. I would not stay here again."

"The problem is that you can hear everything in all of the rooms above and to the right and left of you. I had a room on the first floor. I could hear every door shut, every step taken above me, and and most every conversation going on around me. It's a cute little place not far from the town center and ocean, however, if you need to have a sound sleep, be aware that it won't happen."

"Awesome stay and perfect location for our off season weekend exploring Mystic aquarium and Essex steam trains. Hosts were very easy to reach and helpful. Across from beach, but you can’t actually access until you get to public beach .5 miles away, which was fine but unexpected. Also a couple amenities weren’t perfect, but totally would not affect my decision to rent here again. Very clean and updated! Loved it!"

"Parking easy. Staff helpful. Did not have breakfast there. Rooms small. No staff on duty overnight. No phones in room. No TVs on premises. Pricey for what you get."

"The hotel is beautiful. Staff are great. Everyone we met was super friendly from front desk to waitresses in the restaurant, to the very friendly cleaning staff and those working in the spa. Spa was very relaxing, clean and inviting. I would not hesitate to return."

"The fireplace was lovely and the room was cozy and attractive. The bathroom was spacious and clean, however we weren’t able to locate any extra t.p. I would advise people that the staircase going up to the rooms is quite steep. We were able to manage ok, but anyone with difficulty with stairs would have a challenge. The breakfast voucher for breakfast was great and we enjoyed a lovely meal. We also had a wonderful time at The Kate at a Blues concert. Overall, very satisfied with our overnight stay."

"Quaint, super clean, has everything you need. On the water with spectacular views, and very quiet. Will definitely stay there again when in the area. The hosts are very friendly and quick to respond to any inquiry. "

"First the positives: The location was ideal. The house was well stocked. We didn't cook but the kitchen was exceptionally equipped. The house felt like a treehouse. The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms were nice.The negatives: We arrived to find the house very stuffy (almost 80 degrees in the main living area) without a way to adjust the temperature. I texted the host and the temperature was adjusted. We didn't appreciate not being able to control the temperature (it was freezing the rest of the stay). My husband and I stayed in the basement room. The room, hallway, and bathroom had 10 bugs scattered throughout. The bathroom smelled like sewer and was very muggy. The host offered to send the cleaning lady the next day, but we didn’t think it was necessary since my husband just cleaned up the bugs and the rest of the house was clean. Throughout the weekend, we realized that the bugs were coming out of the shower drain, it was disgusting! We also discovered that the back door didn't bolt. The host did not seem to care when I brought this up. He did have excuses for the other concerns and actually blamed me for not telling him sooner our time of arrival. We arrived 5 hours AFTER the standard arrival time of 3PM. I gave him that info as soon as I could. The host offered us a full refund if we checked out that day and said “it would be in both our best interest if we avoided leaving a mutual review”. I stopped texting him and we stayed until our original check-out time. "
