This is anything but a cookie-cutter rental. Our bright yellow coastal cottage features warm wood ceilings, a cozy loft, a private pool deck, and an oversized backyard that feels like your own little resort—without ever having to leave the property.

Tucked near Ocean Isle Beach and Sunset Beach, Sunshine Shanty is the perfect getaway for family vacations, couples’ escapes, golf trips, girls’ weekends, or simply a few days of slowing down and enjoying the Carolina coast.

Take a dip in your private pool, relax on the deck, gather around the fire pit, enjoy an outdoor movie under the stars, or simply kick back and enjoy the sunshine.

Guest access
We offer easy, self check-in with a smart lock, so you can arrive and settle in on your own schedule.

You’ll have full, private access to the entire home and backyard for the duration of your stay. The backyard is exclusively yours to enjoy and includes:

• ♨️ Hot tub
• 🎬 Outdoor movie theater
• 🔥 Fire pit
• 🍔 Grill

There are no shared outdoor spaces—you and your guests can enjoy the entire backyard privately throughout your stay.

Booking Requirements
* The primary guest booking the home must be 21 years or older.

Upstairs Loft
* Please keep the loft setup in mind when booking. The third sleeping area is located in the upstairs loft and is accessed by a steep ladder rather than traditional stairs.
* Handrails are installed to assist with climbing up and down.
* The loft is a unique feature of Sunshine Shanty and is best suited for agile adults and older children who are comfortable using a ladder. We do not recommend younger children use the loft unattended.

No Smoking
* Absolutely no smoking is permitted anywhere on the property.

Quiet Hours & Gatherings
* No loud parties or events are permitted.
* Social gatherings are limited to 10 people or fewer, including registered guests.
* Loud music is not permitted at any time. We have neighbors nearby and kindly ask that everyone be respectful of the surrounding homes.
* Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 7 AM.

Parking
* The driveway accommodates up to 3 vehicles.
* Parking on the roadway is not permitted, as the roadway is shared.
* Property signs are in place to help guide you to the appropriate parking areas.

A Note About Coastal Bugs 🪳
* Sunshine Shanty is located in a hot, humid coastal environment, where palmetto bugs and other insects are unfortunately common, especially during the warmer summer months and after rain.
* We take cleanliness and pest prevention seriously and have monthly professional pest control as part of our ongoing maintenance.
* While we do everything we can to prevent them, living in the coastal South means that an occasional bug can still make its way inside. This is a normal occurrence in this climate and is not an indication of the cleanliness of our home.
* We appreciate your understanding that the occasional insect is an unavoidable part of staying in a warm, humid beach environment.
