We had an excellent time! Very roomy and open. The dock brought great enjoyment and the outside seating under the house was a great place for our 19-year-old boys to hang out. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep and then some. The air conditioning was a little hard to keep at temperature but that was not a big deal. The property manager was very helpful too! Scalywags was a great vacation! My young children loved fishing and crabbing off the dock, the bunk beds, and the easy beach access at the end of the street. The mattresses are comfortable, beds are made and the convenience of linens provided was amazing! (Especially as a mom of four young children, having the vacation home “ready” was stress free!) we truly enjoyed Ocean Isle, and our down time in Scalywags was well spent! We will be back again soon! Just a few short blocks. We could also walk to a beautiful new park with a fountain that the kids loved playing in. The canal would be great for a boat owner (we are not). The house set up is great for families with kids. We had 4 under 5 years old with us. The property manager and owners answered questions quickly. This was a very last minute rental and the house was ready for us on short notice. We asked about a crockpot and the the property manager got one for us. Scallywags was a great home. The outdoor space was wonderful. Lots of furniture and the canal view was gorgeous. The public beach access at the end of the road was very convenient.
