This apartment is in a great location, but the pictures make it look like it's in MUCH better shape than it is. Broken floor tiles, low ceilings (6'6"), window A/C units that are MUCH too noisy to use while sleeping. Tiny bathroom. The only reason to stay here is the convenient location and the low(ish) price for a 2BR. My 7yo walked in and noted within two minutes: "This is the worst place I've ever been."

Stinks and noisy!!
I’ve stayed a lot of places in my life and this was the worst. The smell was awful! The blinds were ripped. Old food left in kitchen. One bathroom no hot water. Being an old unit you hear everything from upstairs. Every footstep they make. I booked for three nights and left after one and found another place. I lost my money because they have a zero refund policy but I didn’t care. I couldn’t let my family sleep there another night.

Decent place,very close to boardwalk. Big enough to accommodate big groups. Staffs are also easy to talk to.

Not worth it!
Designated parking spot was 2 blocks away. When there were 2 empty spots directly behind the building we were made to move our vehicle. Apartment conditions were questionable, unsafe outlets, floor buckled, nowhere to wash sand off before re-entering, so sand was everywhere. On a positive note, only one block to beach and boardwalk. I stayed at Sophie'S place 3 weeks prior, a little longer walk to beach, but cheaper, cleaner & more accessible I would never use Ocean Lodge or Mallard Apts. again!

Very friendly staff!
First off, the staff are incredibly kind! Very hospitable. The apt was very spacious and perfect for what we needed. The only negatives were that 1)The floors were very dirty. I swept as soon as we got there, and swept up tons of hair, dirt, and dead bugs. Walking across the floor one time left you with disgustingly black feet. 2) Parking was far from ideal. You had to either get parked in, or park someone else in if you wanted to park at the property. There was a 2nd parking option 2 blocks away.

The Bathroom
My one critique, was the bathroom. The Toilet is entirely to close to the Tub. There could have been a little more space. Other than that. All was good with the Apartment.

i book this apartment coz it say can stay 12 people and the woman told me no this apartment only can stay 10 people ! and ask me pay the other $100 for extra 2 people and i show them the listing an d what a sudden she say is fine! Only 1 parking space and at night when we back to apartment after dinner our spot get other people park at !!!!! and the parking is not right in front of the apartment you have to walk 2 broad down! really really bad , and when you get in to the apartment smell like pee , bed is dirty, and quality really really bad worst than motel6 !and we pay almost $500 a night ! will never even book again !

Only problem i had was the cash deposit they wanted whrn i got there because i did not know that i need that...thank god i had it to give or i would have need to cancel and find another spot to stay...i love the place the distance from the beach

This was my first time using Hotels.com - & it will be the last based on this experience. I was looking for a place that was like a condo & thought this hotel fit the bill. The price was 200/night for a 2 night stay which was in line with the area. The pictures made the place appear to be more updated than it really was. The first issue we encountered was no top sheet or blankets & towels. When we called we were told it was listed on the website we were to bring our own. They offered to give us towels but they took a deposit for towels & linens. I went to look @ their website & could not find it anywhere on hotels.com's website. That's because the apts were owned by ocean lodge hotel. When I brought this to the attention she said I was the only one who couldn't find it. Additionally, the coffee maker had an old moldy filter left in the basket. When I informed the owner she needs to be sure to address that for the next renter she said I should have told her at the beginning of the stay. She did not listen to the fact I found it the morning we were checking out- which was a day early due to the weather being so awful. I asked if she would refund the last night & promptly told me no that the policy. So, all & all a rather disappointing experience -one I will be sure NOT to repeat through either this site or that establishment.

I stayed here with my family in a 3 bedroom 2 bath, tried to cancel prior to arrival but owner refused to send back my deposit of $750, so we decided to give this place a chance even after seeing the horrible reviews. As we were checking in the owner (in keeper) said she apologizes in advise because we came to OC at a bad time an that there were lots of teenagers that just graduated staying at Mallard's and that there is a quiet period from 10pm-6am. My husband and I looked confused as we hadn't even been given keys yet. Next owner (inn keepers husband) takes to our unit an says if parking lot is filled park down the street. We immediately protested saying we paid for unit with one parking spot an you gave us a pass why don't other cars have pass. His response was that the other cars belong to kids here visiting their friends to party an that to toll it'll inconvenience kids $400. :( We couldn't believe our ears. To sum it up it was nonstop noise, kids smoking weed that most nights it was hard to sleep an the owner kept saying we came at the wrong time. There were units filled with 7+ more of kids an those kids were inviting more kids over to party. Let me not fail to mention the Wifi, Cable, shower head knob constantly falling off was a bust. Only good thing about this place is that it's less then half a block from the broadwalk.

Just great !!
It was definitely a great place to stay and be for the week. We were the first residents in the newly renovated place. So it was for sure very lovely. Don’t look at the old picture on google go by the ones based off of hotels.com with the green couch and the beachy looking furniture. You won’t regret it. I promise very close to every thing ! Customer service was perfection by all means ! We are pleased and will go back soon.
