A good choice.
We stayed at the hotel for one night. A very good hotel. Our room is clean, comfortable, and efficient. Breakfast is top notch. Staff members are friendly and helpful.

They are completely refurbishing Goldenes Schiff, it will soon be a modern great hotel with all amenities.

The reservation said parking was included, but it wasn't and the lot wasn't terribly far, but was still inconvenient. We got charged extra for our dog, which is fine, but this should have been indicated when making the reservation.

Hello! Thank you for your review. We regret if there were any uncertainties about parking your car. As we have the same procedure with every guest I do not believe that our staff told you something other regarding parking facilities. The parking is public, about 200 meters from the hotel and costs Euro 4,-- for 24 hours. We think a good deal. And also extra costs for a dog is usual at hotels. Sorry for that but the cleaning of a room with a dog needs more time and therefore the extra costs.

7 nights in Bad Ischl.
Fantastic hotel located on the river in Bad Ischl. We had a room with balcony over looking the river and the surrounding countryside wish is stunning. Wonderful wellness centre on the first floor. Breakfast excellent and only reason I didn’t give full marks for service was that there were internet issues on a couple of days…. Not the fault of the hotel I’m sure. Great spot for exploring the magnificent countryside surrounding this town.

Highly disappointed. Very rude & unfriendly staff.
Location is great, my room was great but the staff (with exception of one wonderful person) were absolutely awful. After three months traveling Europe this was one of the worst experiences I had. I’m a seasoned traveler and can roll with just about anything but I can not tolerate unfriendly, unhelpful people, and biased people. I asked for information that I was unable to find myself (obviously) and the staff members reaction was “ Why couldn’t you look that up and figure it out on your own ? (pointing to my iPad) I honestly couldn’t believe it. If this is her reaction to a foreigner asking a question then she is in the wrong industry. The appropriate response should have been, how can I help you? Yes, I’d be glad to. Is there anything else I can help you with? Apart from that, there were some other incidents which would be in appropriate to list here. Hotel has great potential but they need better staff.

Dear Guest! Thank you for your time in spending your feedback. It must have been really a big impact on you. But I am sure that there must have been a missunderstanding. Our reception staff always tries to fulfil the questions of our guests as you can see on other feedbacks. As I have not been part of it and after asking our staff members we are not sure what has happened as it has beed a few days ago. As I alredy told you that our staff tries to help our guest. But they also have to do other things during their duty in case they are alone. Maybe you were informed that you can look up the requested things on your onw tablet as we also do the same because of other important tinhs to do. In any case you should not have the impression that our staff is unfriendly for what I want to apologize. Thank you for the compliments of the hotel-location and our rooms! Kind regards

We ate in the restaurant for dinner which was good. Also the breakfast selections were many and good. Our room was quite large and clean.

This hotel is located right in the heart of Bad Ischl and is so convenient to shopping, restaurants, and on site parking. My room was clean and modern with all the amenities you could ask for.

Wonderful hotel in a picturesque little town. Very clean rooms, courteous and helpful staff, delicious large breakfast (included in room price), reasonable rates and cookies at check in. What more could anyone ask for?!

Very clean and the beds were great! The hotel was very convenient to the train station and all shopping. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful! Free breakfast was very nice with a lot of variety.

Overall I loved the property. Recently renovated, great bathrooms! Terrific views (we had a balcony overlooking the river, great location! Breakfast was excellent. My only complaint is that the bed was quite firm. If you like a soft bed, this isn’t for you.

Great staff
The staff was wonderful, As we traveled we only know a little of the languages. Just basics so when it came time to eat and we chose to eat the the hotel, the staff was extremely accommodating. The front staff was also very helpful. Gave us good recommendation for traveling instead of the train. The location is good also.

Family friendly.
Wonderful central hotel. All the major sites are just a short walk away. Family room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was a simple buffet but adequate for two adults and a toddler.

Excellent service in a beautiful part of Austria.
We relied on public transport to usher us around this beautiful part of Austria and because of the position of the hotel (less than a 10 minute stroll along the riverside to bus and train station) it suited us perfectly. Our hotel room didn't have the benefit of a view of the river, however the only noise at night (with the windows open) was the sound of church bells. The hotel room was very clean, as was the bathroom which had the added bonus of a shower/bath. There was plenty of storage space and the bed was extremely comfortable. There was a vast selection of food and drink available at breakfast, and the three members of staff were very professional and efficient. All staff at the hotel were friendly and keen to help. I did appreciate the discount on our trip up Katrin due to purchasing the cable car tickets at the hotel (although it wasn't advertised).

Very close to the town center. Everything within walking distance. Seems to be the only hotel in the area with decent rooms for the price

Great Spot!
The hotel is super cozy and sits right on the river. Friendly and helpful staff, great location, and a great option if you're looking to visit surrounded areas.

A very nice room in a central location
Hotel owner's sister checked us in and kindly gave us a tour of possible rooms. Our double deluxe plus room was very comfortable and clean, quiet, and had a wonderful panoramic view of the river and hills. Hotel staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. Advertised coffee and tea in the lobby was not there, though pay room service was available.

Very nice hotel in a quiet city
Reasonably close to the train station, within the "downtown" area of the city. Nice location for walks along the river. We stayed in the family suite which can hold five people. Very quiet location and a great free breakfast was included.

Great location
We took this hotel for 3 nights and traveled around. Hotel location and the free parking were excellent for our trip. Our Classic Double room wasn't specious, but ok. It had a window to the back side of the hotel which was very silent. Breakfast was fine. Lack of A/C could be a problem in warmer weather.

A four star hotel without air-condition
The room was OK, no more.Small and very basic. NO AIR CONDITION IN THE ROOM. The weather was very hot during our stay. We asked and received a fan.The breakfast was very good. There is convenient parking free of charge.

Our Hotel is situated in the Alps surrounded by many mountains. It is absolutely uncommon to find Hotels in Austria except in the big cities like Vienna and Salzburg with air condition. I can truly tell you that maybe there are 7 days in a year where the temperature during the night is so warm that it is not enough to open the Windows and let the fresh and cool air inside. Nevertheless we think about to install air-condition in our rooms as the climate has definetly changed during the last years.
