For other guests reading this review, Check in time is from 3pm onwards at our hotel reception, if you arrive earlier than this time then the hotel reception main door will be closed.We are very short staffed at this point in time, as are a number of hospitality venues across the country. Occasionally due to staff shortages reception is not manned during the check in time between 3pm-11pm and guests are asked to check in via our welcoming staff in our bar, we hope this would not cause any inconvenience for guests.We hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Thank you John for taking the time to leave us a review.All of our hardworking staff try their very hardest when checking in guests to provide them with the correct information about our lovely town. I checked with the person who was on reception when you checked in and she said as she always does with guests she explained to you that there is on street car parking outside the hotel and two large car parks within a short distance of the hotel. I do apologise if this information was not clear for you. You booked into one of our Standard Double Rooms, these are our smallest double rooms at the hotel and we have one on the first floor (2nd US) and two on the second floor (3rd US) we are always happy for our guests to make a request for a room on a lower floor and we always try to accommodate this where possible. When making your booking you did not request a lower floor, therefore your room was automatically allocated to you by our booking system with whichever Standard Double was available at the time of booking for your two night stay.We have a number of images online showing guests what our staircase is like and information regarding access to the rooms by stairs only. For other guests reading this review, our stairs and landings have lights on each floor and leading up the stairs.We are delighted that you enjoyed your time sampling some whisky from our vast whisky collection and enjoyed the information which are knowledgeable bar staff provided you with.

We have larger double rooms available which have a super king bed instead of a standard double bed, they also have bigger bathrooms. Dear Deepak, Sadly you chose to eat curry takeaway in your room against our advice and terms and conditions. You were welcome to eat your food in either of our bar areas,using our cutlery,napkins, etc, instead of in your room with your hands, and this may have saved you the cost of replacing the damaged property. Unfortunately you managed to get curry handprints on the super king duvet sheet, carpet and completely cover your hand towel! We couldn’t believe that someone could make that sort of mess on our linen if not deliberately. Our linen could not be saved and we charged you for replacements.Luckily our carpet has some stain proofing which meant after some considerable work to save the carpet we did not have to replace it. Had you admitted to the damage when it happened instead of thinking it was acceptable behaviour we may not have charged you the full cost. Sadly we cannot post the shocking photos to let people reading your review decide for themselves.

We have three different sized double rooms at the hotel which range in size and price in order to meet our guests needs and budgets. At the time that you made your booking on the 8th June there was one Standard Double Room and one of our larger Deluxe Double Rooms available for booking. We are always happy to discuss room types with guests to see what which room type would suit their needs. All room images and room sizes are available online in order for you to make an informed decision before booking.We do not advertise that we have dining facilities or offer breakfast at the hotel, I am sorry if you missed that the rate is room only when you made the booking. The Majority of hotels in the area charge extra for breakfasts and this is not included in the room price, you have to select this option when making the booking, I am sorry that you presumed that it was included in the price.Best wishesThe Whisky Vaults Hotel Team.
