A home away from home!
Blackmount House exceeded our expectations. It was remote, yet had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed the seclusion and serenity. Ideal for a quiet getaway, yet only a very short drive from the centre of Oban. This property really is a home away from home!

A beautiful, quiet holiday hideaway
We had a lovely week as 5 adults plus dog in this spacious house. Nice to arrive to a welcome basket after a long drive. Really comfortable furnishings and the kitchen was great to cook and be in. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna as well as local walks and outings. Views are of the hills and trees, which is restful.

Family Christmas at Blackmount House
Lovely accommodation in great surroundings. The house was clean and comfortable and everything was there that we could have wished for. We stayed during the Christmas week and the owners put up a lovely Christmas tree. The quaint town of Oban was only a couple of miles away and had a Tesco where we got our supplies.

Magical holiday
Absolutely beautiful house and location. Could live there forever! Will be booking again very soon….
The views and setting of this property are simply exquisite, and the design of the house is great, so much space and a great flow!
I would go back at the drop of a hat, best break in a very long time ❤️ (was just a few small points on cleanliness but nothing major, and wouldn’t put us off going back as you can see!!)

Great base for visiting Western Scotland with a five minute drive to Oban. Very spacious with everything provided for an enjoyable stay.
Just a suggestion….
The hearth by wood burner a trip hazard (we all tripped on it) especially coming in through outside doors.

Perfect holiday home in wonderful location!
We can't speak highly enough of Black Mount - we are a family of 6 + dog and had the best holiday we could hope for. The whole family loved it. Gorgeous location - spotted deer and pine martens outside the house. Lovely dog walks just minutes away from the house - make sure you find the Cathedral of Trees!....House was so comfortable, had everything we needed not forgetting the sauna, outside bath (great experience - couldn't decide whether to read or just look at the view!) + hot tub... Added bonus NO MIDGES!.. Thank you...

The 2 sofas in the lounge were uncomfortable and sagging in the middle.
The garden, although fenced off, is not secure for small to medium sized dogs.

An enjoyable stay
We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly consider a return visit. The house is beautiful with many amenities. It is located in a peaceful glen only a short 5 minute drive from Oban.
In the kitchen a spatula and draining spoon for getting, eg cooked vegetables from a pan would be a welcome addition.
When we arrived the fridge hadn’t been cleaned properly and the dishwasher hadn’t been emptied.
The provided bin liners were way too small and we bought our own.
However all these are very minor points, which can easily be improved upon.
Overall we’d highly recommend the property to you others.

The best yet!
We had an amazing 10 days holiday at Black Mount. The house and the location was just perfect and exactly what we needed. The facilities were excellent with the combination of sauna, hot tub and not forgetting the outside bath! The location was peaceful and the area around was excellent for walking the dog. Oban was near enough so you could get the vibres of town life if you wanted. There was so much to do - too much choice in some ways. We will definitely be back - thank you

Wonderful holiday
The six of us and our dog had a wonderful holiday at Blackmount House. It is a fabulous property in a great spot, 5 min drive from Oban. The house is really well kitted out and the rooms are a generous size. The photos online don't do it justice as it is a lovely house and everything is of a very high standard. We used the hot tub twice which was delightful. We contacted the host once and they were super responsive. The weather was warm and there was just a little rain. Nearby, we can recommend the pony trekking at Achnalarig, the islands of Kerrera, Seil and Easdale, and the Dunollie Castle. Oban is a lovely town too.

Amazing house in a great location.
Just back from a weeks stay in this beautiful house. Loved the wood fired hot tub, sauna and outdoor bath which my family and I used during our stay. The house is furnished beautifully. All the bedding and towels are of a good quality. We had great weather during our stay so were able to sit out in the garden and admire the view. Great walks on your door step. Oban is a lovely place with plenty pubs, restaurants and takeaways. Walked into Oban from the house a few times and got a taxi back. Cost about £7 and always easy to get one. Would definitely recommend a stay at Black Mount.

A brilliant stay, in a great house, in a marvellous location.
My fiancée and I had a splendid time staying at Blackmount house. The accommodation is tastefully decorated, really spacious and has a very well equipped kitchen. The view from the back of the property is lovely, and it is only a very short drive from Oban, though with the view, it feels like it could be much more remote!
The house is just lovely and considering how many it sleeps, is great value. The wood burner in the living room was really nice. After a long day exploring its the perfect spot of relax with a book.
There is lots to do in the area. As keen walkers, you are spoiled for choice. We did a couple of munroes, then spent the evening in the wood fired hot tub - the perfect way to unwind. We even got very lucky and were able to see starts from the hot tub.
It was a pretty wonderful experience.
Oban is a must stop for all sea food fans too. We had some great food, both out in Oban and in the kitchen at Blackmount.
Its a short trip to a great fish shop by the harbour. There are some superb sea trips from Oban too. We got the ferry on this occasion to kerrera, and ate at the marina bar there. That island was idyllic. with great views back across to Oban across the picturesque marina, it really is an absolute gem of a place and we were lucky with the weather.
We highly recommend staying here and intend to return!
