We had a girls weekend in Oakland/San Francisco for a close friend's wedding (in Oakland). We really wanted a place where we could get into San Francisco quickly, but also accessible to the venue in Oakland for the wedding; the mid-century modern gem, was perfect! We fell in love with the area and the neighborhood. We were close to the city, but did not have to deal with the city hub bub at the end of the night. The home was extremely spacious! Third room, which is detached from the main home, it just that, detached. We deemed it the Harry Potter room, as it was very secluded, so we didn't use it. The other 2 rooms were so large, the beds were KING, and the couch that turned into the bed was said to be surprisingly comfortable. Weird note, I just loved the large hallway. There are many features of this house that I wish we had more time to use, such as the great kitchen and amazing patio area! it was gorgeous, with view and the lights, and again the space! The kitchen had stocked the basic needs -- but was sufficient. We didn't do much cooking. The one 'downfall' with the home, and 5 girls, were the bathrooms. There were two bathrooms, but only one shower, and only one of the bathrooms had outlets. We made it work, it definitely wasn't the end of the world, we just planned a bit. One of my favorite features of the home, was the view! we hung out in the family room with the great view, and just visited. There was a TV (small), but it was never used as we just soaked up the company and view. We did enter the home with a hint of a recreational smell, but it was faint, and was gone by the first day. There is a fireplace, but we never could figure out how to use it. At times it took a while to get warm (it was rainy while were there), but we got there, and there were plenty of throws around the home. The location, as described was great! We loved the area so much. The neighborhood was quiet, and up in the hill. As we drove around, we just were so pleased with our decision to stay here. One night we had to run to the grocery store, a Safeway wasn't far away, and it looked to be in such a cute little down. Wish we had more time to discover. Parking was easy. We did only have one car, therefore the one spot was perfect. There was street parking, safe parking, on the same street.
Tracy was responsive and so easy to work with! I don't think we were demanding, but I have a feeling if we had any requests she would hae been helpful. Great host. Thanks.
