Everybody in family except husband loves to fish. Pier made easy access for that. We saw an eagle twice, caught a few fish, and several large blue crabs. We stayed in mid-August for a long weekend of fishing at lounging at the beach. The home fit our extended family of 7 beautifully. The neighborhood was quiet and well-maintained. The home itself was so inviting, with a well-stocked kitchen (bring your own knives), comfortable congregating areas, and beautiful views. Lisa was so helpful and communicative! It was super clean and very nice. It was perfect in every way. We loved the pier and the way it was tucked back in the trees. It was like our own little paradise. We really enjoyed the bike rides and the ping pong table as well. Lisa made it super easy to check in and out and she was helpful in every way. This was one of the best houses we have stayed in. Very well maintained and furnished. Stocked with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. We loved the screened in back porch overlooking the inland waterway and beautiful back yard. The neighborhood was the perfect place for riding bikes along the waterway. Met several of the locals in the neighborhood while walking the dog. Everyone was so friendly. A five minute drive to public beach access. Close to all the wonderful restaurants on the island. (Our favorites - Salt64, Castucci's, Kai Joe's) Our host was great and sent messages to make sure we arrived ok and had everything we needed. Highly recommend this property. ##### Steve E. This property was the perfect, cozy home to spend our family Thanksgiving. We had never been to North Carolina before and we fell in love with Oak Island. The home was perfect in terms of location, space for everyone, amenities, lots of extra items provided for recreation and there was even a beautiful Christmas tree inside to greet us once we arrived! You could sense the love and warmth in this family home. The beach was easy to get to and we loved watching the boats pass by in the early mornings and evenings from the porch. We even caught a few fish of our own from the pier. The owner is very friendly and easy to communicate with all through the process, even before making the booking, as we had a few questions about our son bringing his dog. She even checked on us upon our arrival to make sure we were finding everything okay. We would highly recommend this beautiful home for anyone looking for a memorable vacation - we are definitely hoping to return!
