Everything about our stay was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Our room was spacious with plenty of space to store clothes and all of our gadgets. Every morning breakfast was very satisfying with plenty of options. The restaurant offered a complete menu with a wide variety of Asian and Western foods. The restaurant setting is beautiful overlooking the pool and the lake in the distance. Yet the real jewel for the Sanctum is the staff. Always very friendly and ready to take care of any need. The general manager, Baptiste, was constantly checking on us, answering questions, giving advice, and making certain that our stay was a wonderful experience. That is a large, semi detached villa which is really beautiful and luxurious. Really enjoyed that. :-) The only minor remark is that the suite would be even nicer with a splash of colour. It was a little dull in regards to the colour choice. Some bright, colourful fabric and/or painting could do the trick. The pool seems a bit small in high season, I fear. Nevertheless a beautiful dark tiled pool with a nice view towards the lake. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and enjoyed a really very nice meal. Tasteful, nice presented dishes. It's only a pitty that there are not so many local dishes on the menu. Otherwise we would have had dinner more than once. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was a nice surprise and the villa was spacious and very well appointed. The pool offers a refreshing dip with views onto Inle Lake. Staff always have a smile and are very accomodating to any requests. Breakfast is a la carte and offered a very good variety of options. Complimentary bicycles are provided to explore the surrounding areas. Dinner was delicious and the waiter made an excellent recommendation for a locally produced red wine to accompany the food. I would however have liked to see more local dishes offered in the restaurant. Service was exquisite, from happy caring staff. We had a suite with glorious views of a lake Inle. Food and beverages were both fabulous. The one day tour on the lake to the various villages, pagodas and markets is a wonderful experience. Hot air ballooning is the plan when we return. I wish we had stayed longer! Right on Inle Lake and we were upgraded when we arrived. Great place to relax or explore the lake on a range of tours that the hotel provides. Also great value for money.
