I would recommend staying on Nyaungshwe and getting boat trips from there. Or just spending 1 night here. The worst part is that you get no sleep as motor boats are working late to the night and early in the morning. Also prayers go on through the night. Not that I want to complain about that but it adds to the ‘no sleep’ issue. They also wanted to charge us $350 for a driver where in Nyaungshwe we found one for $100... The bungalow was comfortable with a spacious verandah. It had excellent cross ventilation and was comfortable without air conditioning. The bed was next to a large window and it was very special seeing the lights on the water and a golden pagoda in the distance as one went to sleep.
