It was within walking distance from the centre and the cost was right for the convenience. The owner cared too much for the safety of the room and its furniture. There were messages with fees and the table was covered with oilcloth. The carpet was not clean enough. The property does not have a restaurant, so breakfast is not available even for extra payment. Cozy and comfortable hotel Stayed at Versal hotel during my 3 say business trip to Astana. Since I had meetings at Ministries of Kazakhstan, location was just perfect. Very clean, comfortable and quiet hotel with excellent service. The rooms are clean and there's even breakfast. Arrived early hours of the morning and not due to check in until 2pm but they gave us an empty room to get some sleep until our room was ready later that morning. Free breakfast is not a buffet but we had some fruit, a yogurt, eggs, porridge, fried dough balls with sour cream, chocolates and tea and coffee every day. There is also a kettle and tea/coffee facilities provided all day free of charge. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable. Great value and location. This is not intended to be a 5 star hotel and does not have the amenities of one. There was much building work going on, and the whole experience was disappointing. Reception was miles away from the room, only one front desk staff spoke any English, and everything seemed like an afterthought. Changed rooms to get air-conditioning, but it had been used for smoking. I was able to check in a bit early, although for very early check ins an extra cost is payable. The shower was hot, the bed the most comfortable I've slept in for a while, and the breakfast was individually prepared and very comprehensive.
