Farthing Green House is a large listed building in Loddon, a Norfolk village with easy access to the Norfolk Broads, the coast and the historic city of Norwich. Farthing Green House has its own car park to the rear of the property with ample parking available. A short walk through the garden (which you are welcome to enjoy) brings you to the rear courtyard from which you can enter The Old Bank. The Old Bank on the ground floor used to house one of the forerunners to Barclays Bank in the early 1900s and some of the shelving from those days has been retained. The Old Bank has been designed to be as wheelchair friendly as possible given the constraints imposed by the building. Those with or without limited mobility are all welcome. The Old Bank comprises a kitchen with a range of easy-cook appliances, a living/sleeping area and an accessible wetroom. It is particularly suitable for solo travellers, two adults or parent and child (cot and high chair are available). The main sleeping area has a king-size bed or, if preferred, twin beds. The living area has a sofa and TV. The kitchen is provided with easy to use appliances (including a toaster, coffee maker, fridge, air fryer, microwave and an induction hob) as well as a breakfast bar. The accessible wetroom has a shower with grab rails and stool. There is also a toilet and small washbasin. The Old Bank is provided with wi-fi broadband. Bed linen and towels are provided. There is also a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Since all rooms are provided with fire detectors, smoking or vaping indoors is not permitted. There are designated smoking areas outside. Pets are not permitted. The property owners live in the West Wing and are available to help with any queries or issues during your stay to ensure that you have everything you need for a relaxing time. The Old Bank provides a great self-catering base from which to explore the surrounds by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, car, public transport and river craft. Loddon and Surrounds Loddon is a charming, large village located in the scenic county of Norfolk in the East of England. It is a picturesque destination with access to the beautiful Norfolk Broads, a network of navigable rivers and lakes. Loddon itself is filled with quaint, historic buildings and a variety of local shops including a post office, chemist and supermarket. The Church of the Holy Trinity, a stunning example of 15th-century architecture, is a 'must visit'. Nature lovers will enjoy a visit to Wherryman's Way, a long-distance footpath along the River Yare. My partner and I stayed here for two nights over the long Easter weekend. We loved the space and it had everything we needed. We contacted Meg and Pete before booking and they were happy to accommodate a special request for us which was very kind as they did not have to. They were great hosts and super responsive. The apartment is decorated beautifully and there were thoughtful extra touches - the oat milk in the fridge alongside regular milk was particularly thoughtful. There is an air fryer (rather than oven), microwave, kettle and a single electric ring for cooking if you need it. My only recommendation would be, if you are sensitive to light in the morning, bring an eye mask for sleeping as it can be very bright first thing, even with the blinds closed.We did not use the games room or the gym but these are great extras to have at the property. The garden space is also lovely but again, we didn't have time to enjoy this added bonus. I can imagine a summer's evening sat out there would be luscious though.Loddon has plenty of pubs and take-aways in walking distance. We ordered from The Indian Palace and were not disappointed. The place is incredibly quiet with where it's positioned at the rear of the property. Extremely clean, very comfortable king sized bed, all the kitchen amenities we needed and felt extremely welcomed upon our arrival. It made for a lovely weekend getaway with so many local walks, places too see and multiple shops and pubs close by. Also having full access to the grounds and garden was a gorgeous addition also. 10/10, Couldn't improve on it, Will definitely be staying again. ##### L S.
