COTTAGE SWAPS CONSIDERED. What can I do here?: The three main attractions are the Norfolk Broads (rivers and lakes) with rural countryside, the historic cathedral city of Norwich and the wonderful sandy Norfolk Coastline including the bustling seaside resorts of Cromer and Great Yarmouth. All this is less than 30 minutes drive from the cottage. What are the Norfolk Broads?: The Norfolk Broads are a unique combination of slow meandering rivers with beautiful lakes (locally known as Broads). The river banks include thatched cottages with immaculate lawns (and gardens), reed beds (used for roof thatching) and many pretty staithes (a local word for a place to moor your boat). The best way to enjoy this wonderful National Park is either on-foot or by boat. Boats can be either hired (by the hour or day) or take an organised trip - Norfolk boats are either motor cruisers or traditional wooden sailing yachts. ## Property amenities ### Internet - Available in the cottage: WiFi ### Parking and transport - Parking on site ### Kitchen - Hob - Microwave - Refrigerator - Toaster ### Bedrooms - 2 bedrooms ### Bathroom - 1 bathroom - Hair dryer - Shower ### Entertainment - TV ### Outdoor areas - Furnished patio ### Comfort - Heating ### Pets - No pets allowed ### Suitability/Accessibility - Smoke-free property ### Services and conveniences - Iron/ironing board ### Safety features - Carbon monoxide detector not reported (host has not indicated whether there is a carbon monoxide detector on the property; consider bringing a portable detector) - Smoke detector (host has indicated there is a smoke detector on the property) ### General - Unit size: 150 square feet ## Policies ### Check-in Check-in time starts at 4:00 PM Minimum check-in age - 18 ### Check-out Check-out before 11:00 AM Contactless check-out ### Special check-in instructions You will receive an email from the host with check-in and check-out instructions ### Rules Main renter must be over 21 years of age ### Pets Pets not allowed ### Children and extra beds Children are welcome ### Events No events allowed ### Smoking Smoking is not permitted ## Important information ### You need to know This property is managed by a private host (a party not acting within their trade, business or profession). It is in beautiful condition and is well appointed. Also, our bed was very comfortable. The central position in Horning puts it within very short walking distance (5 minutes or so) of two great pub/resteraunts and a couple of lovely cafes. We really enjoyed our stay. ##### David F. So we booked Seymour Cottage. Its a lovely cosy little cottage with everything you could possibly want or need. It doesn't have a riverside view but is straight opposite the pub which is on the river. Fabulous stay and would recommend. ##### GAIL W. Stayed 7 nights in Sep 2023 ### 8/10 Good #### Maralyn W. 28 Sept 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Seymour cottage. Horning. Lovely little cottage situated close to the river in a very central location. The village shop, 2 pubs, cafe, chinese takeaway & a restaurant are all within a 2-3 minute walk. The only negative... there is no loo upstairs ! ##### Maralyn W. Stayed 3 nights in Sep 2024 ### 8/10 Good #### Christine H. 25 Jun 2018 #### Well appointed in limited space We enjoyed a stay in perfect weather Good position near to waterfront and excellent eateries Cottage itself has limited views and is a bit dark but it was spotlessly clean and comfortable Horning is a well placed village for visiting the area Managing the rubbish and recycling was a problem - not sure about what we were meant to do Also internet access and tv reception spasmodic but we were on holiday so it wasn’t that important Enjoyed our stay ##### Christine H. Stayed 3 nights in Jun 2018 This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Shirley S. 29 Apr 2015 #### Home from home Seymour cottage was very easy to find as I already knew Horning, but directions given were very good. Although quite compact downstairs, but enough room for 4 people, it was very clean and a pleasure to stay in. Everything that you could possibly need was provided for. Ruth the owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. The only slight downside for me, and it is only a personal preference and not the same as everybody's would be, I found the beds slightly too hard. For me a mattress topper would be useful. I would definitely recomend Seymour Cottage and hope to stay again one day. The place to eat is The Swan Inn, great food, good prices and nice staff. The Staithe And Willow tea rooms also do a good English breakfast. ##### Shirley S. This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 2/10 Terrible #### Jacqui M. 28 Oct 2017 #### Tired, needed updating Cottage in lovely position in village. Just felt carpets were old and were dirty around the skirting area. Bathroom blind had a lot of mould on it as no extractor fan. Mould around bedroom window and grouting in bathroom. Just generally thought it needed a deep clean and the interior needed a facelift. It could be a lovely little cottage. Unfortunately we won't be returning to it. ##### Jacqui M. Stayed 7 nights in Oct 2017 ### 4/10 Poor #### Ian T. 17 Sept 2022 Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy Disliked: Cleanliness, communication #### Excellent location spoilt by poor attention to the kitchen and bathroom equipment. We were NOT impressed with the lack of checking that all equipment worked. Fridge damaged..Micro-wave not working. Batteries "flat" in remote controls. Window loose on its hinges etc. ##### Ian T. Stayed 7 nights in Sep 2022 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Anthony L. 13 May 2018 #### May short break stay Seymour cottage was an excellent choice for our three night break, both in its location and the condition of the property. The cottage has obviously been recently redecorated throughout and to a very high standard. From the moment we arrived we felt totally at home. The cottage was extremely clean and all the necessary provisions ( cutlery, crockery and bedding etc) were of the highest quality. As this was our first visit to the Broads, the amount of information on places of interest, in the form of leaflets, was invaluable in helping us plan for what was a fabulous few days away. Prior to our break we were contacted by the owner, who provided us with detailed information about the various pubs and restaurants in the village and this again proved invaluable. Having now visited a considerable amount of the Broads in a very short space of time, I have no doubt we made the right choice in choosing Horning and in particular, Seymour cottage as our base and it is most certainly somewhere we would choose for a future visit. ##### Anthony L. Stayed 3 nights in May 2018 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Marlene D. 21 Sept 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Perfect location This cottage is really cute, comfortable and perfectly located in the village of Horning. It's very near a nice pub, but no noise could be heard from the pub. The cottage is very well equipped and the wifi works perfectly! The Smart TV was also very appreciated. The village is really charming, has everything you need and it's great fun watching the boats on the beautiful river Bure. The little village shop, a cafe, a Chinese take away, restaurants and three pubs are all within walking distance. We very much enjoyed our visit here and would recommend this cottage to anyone planing a visit to the Norfolk Broads and surrounding area. ##### Marlene D. The cottage was lovely, very comfortable and very well equipped with everything you would need.We will definitely stay here again ##### Janet T. Clean, well equipped and in a fabulous location. Horning has everything, riverside pubs, restaurants and lots of other shops. So, even though it has everything it is still a nice quiet small village. ##### Roy and Mary B.
