The house is beautifully presented with intricate and historical details everywhere. The owner of the hotel is very friendly, helpful and always happy to share her favorite holiday spots with you. Our suite was beautiful, clean, and tastefully decorated. The restaurant, library and the play room are VERY impressive and photogenic. We also enjoyed playing with Sophie's 3 big puppies. My favorite is Rogue. She is so friendly to people and always wants you to play with her or pet her. Hawley Beach is just on yhe other sode of the road. It is very beautiful and great for kids.

Hawley House is an experience! It doesn't have all the mod cons, but it more than makes up for that with beauty, charm, amazing grounds, fabulous position and unbelievable view. It's got three things that my family loved: three lovely dogs, an antique grand piano in very good condition and a roof top bath (not accessible from all rooms; best to request). Going to Hawley House is definitely stepping back in time. The perfect place if you like character and surprises.

The house with a bath tub on the roof.
A beautiful house that is 145 years old. So much business potential in the site itself. The site itself can be an interesting tourist attraction on its own. A beautiful lake filled with lotus plants behind the main structure. Lots of wildlife, peacocks and wallabies were seen during our stay there. Beautiful garden, mysterious crooks and crannies worth exploring. There is a hall next to the main structure which i think is used as a wedding hall. Sophie looked after us very well. Her 3 dogs were very friendly. Our kids loved playing with the dogs. Room was very clean and well maintained for a 145 year old house. There was a bath tub on the roof which was accessible from the living room of our family suite upstairs. I have no idea why there is a bath tub on the roof but i had to see it myself. I climbed a few flights of stairs attached to the roof and reached the top most of the house and there it was, an open air bath tub with a million dollar view. Lol! I love the vintage decors and furnishings in our room and throughout the house. They are so gorgeous. Took a lot of photos of the whole place.

Loved the old world style. Loved the ecclectic decorations the garden , the beach and the food was very high quality. All the important things are done. Clean rooms, new carpets, bedding, curtains. The bathrooms are updated, the rooms large, new balconies. As with any old house There is still a lot to do. Look past it and dress for dinner. We had a great time

Sorry to hear our accommodation didn't meet your expectations. Unfortunately, it seems modern accommodation would suit your tastes better. We are a 150 year old heritage pet friendly family home. Also have no idea the issue was with communication as you left without talking to anyone.

What an amazing old/historically listed property in a beautiful part of our state. Sophie (and her 3 puppies) made check-in and check-out very enjoyable. Our youngest son had so much fun playing with the dogs throughout our stay. Breakfast was very enjoyable and appreciated :)

Waking up to the view out to the water was breathtaking! And the breakfast included was lovely :) The parking was a bit confusing and some lights from the parking area to the accommodation would be useful as it was quite muddy.

Hawley house was a nice and unique place to stay. Our room was clean and cosy. The old building is beautiful and has a lot of character. We loved the dogs wandering around and the horses. It had a nice homely feel.

Thanks for your feedback - not sure which pictures you were looking at? The pictures are of the house and the rooms in the house, so it is hard to see how the house is nothing like them. The building is 150 years old. It seems that modern buildings are more suitable to your tastes, sincere apologies that we didn't meet your expectations

Beautiful heritage property! Breakfast of fresh baked breads, home made jams and fresh fruit with yogurt and a selection of cereals. Dinner each night is worth booking in for as well!

Loved the heritage aspect of the property. It was so lovely to look through the history of the property since it’s construction in the 1800s. The rooms are beautiful, fully renovated but still retain the charm of yesteryear.

Very pleasant stay in a lovely location.
I stayed overnight for a business trip. The owner was very hospitable and helpful. The room was nice with a great view of the beautiful gardens. The location is lovely - very close to the beach. Breakfast was included which was very nice.

This was the most amazing accommodation we have stayed at in a long time. The property is just gorgeous, with so many things to explore, like the heritage building(s), chapel, gardens, the nearby beach and the rooms are unique and big with the best views! The host and her dogs are super friendly and the food outstanding with lots of it sourced from the veggie garden! We will definitely be back.

Very nice old house
The location is very good, just close to the beach. The hotel itself is a nice experience. It looks like it was a very nice house 50 years ago. The maintenance and cleaning could be better. They should advice that the common areas are shared with dogs and cats as some customers could be allergic to this animals.

Thanks for your review, glad you enjoyed your short stay. We find that guests who like pets are the ones who like it here the most. The house was certainly not nicer 50 years ago than it is now. We have a historical photo album for guests to see the continuous improvements and renovations to the house and gardens over the 70 years our family has owned it. They bought it derelict and with no plumbing, wiring or gardens, it has never been better in its 150 years!

Amazing historic house! We stayed one night but needed extra time to explore. We were allocated a room in the converted stables Well fitted out comfortable & spacious Went to sleep listening to a chorus of frogs - slept so soundly Breakfast was included - continental This was lovely also Climbed up to the roof top bath & enjoyed the wonderful views A bit chilly this day to bathe though
