The very modern decor hits you immediately and takes some getting used to. But the bed was very comfortable - always a major consideration. The breakfasts were self-service but good, although Dutch guests bemoaned the lack of cold meats! We wished the room had tea making facilities, but we only had to go along to the kitchen and make a cup there, as long as it was before 9pm when they locked the door.
WIFI was variable and generally weak, and French TV had limited appeal - it would've been good to have CNN and Eurosport!
We wondered why there was a fridge in the room as there were no glasses, plates or cutlery. But again, all we had to do was go to the kitchen. We enjoyed some lunches on our small terrace which was also good for drying swimwear etc.
The staff were all youngsters apart from the two men we assumed were the owners and who were always engaging guests. The attention from the young staff varied.
The location of the hotel suited us perfectly ... a 5 minute walk from the ferry, a 2 minute walk to a small beach, and 5 minutes to the town centre. We avoided the main beach apart from our final dinner on the sand at a good restaurant.
L'Ile Rousse we liked more than Calvi which we found too big and crowded, although there were a lot of families and young.
The weather was perfect - a little more wind would've been nice as we would then have hired a sailing boat!
