Two days in York
York is great, but this hotel, unfortunately, is far from that. I would expect, from a 4-star hotel, at least: 1) to have a desk and a chair in the room, where we could do some work; 2) to have some drawers, where we could store some clothes instead of leaving them in the baggage all the time; 3) to have a safe, where we could leave the passport and other documents. I believe that all these "amenities" are quite obvious. Well, our room had none of the above. I had to check my emails on the bed, because there was no desk at all. The room was so small that there was no place for even a chair: there was only a bed. And that's all. There was a small fridge the occupied most of the wardrobe, and left no place for anything else, except the hair dryer, thrown on the floor of the wardrobe. And no drawer or shelves at all, neither inside nor outside the wardrobe. Not even the bedside tables had a drawer. In the bathroom, the shampoo and the conditioner stood under the sink, because there was no place for them. I spent two weeks travelling all over England and Scotland, and this was definitely my worst experience with a room. And it was far from being the cheapest one. Except for this, the hotel building is fine and very near the train station. But it didn't worth the price.
