Nice spacious hotel, paid extra for an executive room, which was large but not impressive. No remote for the tv, asked at eception but it didn't materialise. Parking very restricted

Suite reserved:not like website - aged furniture /scuff marks/stained curtains. Hot water - advised to run (hot) tap on both sink and bath for 10 mins...We left a day early.... then email with "evidence of smoking" (2 photos 2 bits of?)Tried to adopt full charge for 3rd night re spurious smoking charge.. We don't smoke! Never again

The hotel is ideally situated and close to the shops. Although there is limited parking, we managed to park on site. We didn't have dinner in the hotel, but we did have breakfast, which was very nice. We have visited Harrogate many times over the years and have always wanted to stay at the hotel. We have now done so - and will do again next time we are in the area.

Obviously an old building with lot's of character. Excellent location, could not fault anything. Only had breakfast which was very nice. Dog friendly which suited us as we could take our little pooch with us.

Rooms are a bit dated, if you have trouble getting in to the shower ask for an accessible room. Beds a bit small but on the whole it does the job!

A very comfortable hotel within 5 minutes walk of the town centre. The service is always great too. Another fantastic stay at the Crown hotel.

Charming Hotel Stay
Beautiful building with a charming reception and foyer. Large rooms with comfortable beds. Less on eco-friendliness as the rooms were large and single pane glass. Very pleasant staff

A bit noises due to Xmas parties, but it was Xmas. Breakfast was not too good due to buffet breakfast was cold. Otherwise everything else was good.

Great, exept breakfast
Nice looking hotel oozing old fashioned charm. Small car park but was lucky and managed to get a bay. Had a suite on second floor and found it roomy and comfortable. Excellent location for exploring Harrogate. Only downside was the quality of the cooked breakfast, limited choice, serve yourself buffet, no black pudding, no mushrooms, no fried eggs, no hash browns, what was available was over cooked hard sausages, over cooked bacon, scrambled eggs, potato pieces, tomatoes and beans which were only on the warm side, pity really, but all in all we enjoyed our stay. Not to mention nice friendly staff.

Needs updating !
Very dated hotel. Nothing ‘Executive’ about the Executive room we booked . Breakfast awful , everything had been mass produced early and was sitting under hot lamps . Bacon cremated and sausages dry . Fried eggs been under lights for over an hour and were like bullets . Hot drinks options good .

Crown Hotel, Harrogate
The Crown Hotel, Harrogate is perfectly situated for retail therapy and restaurants. Parking is limited at the hotel and on street parking close by requires a parking token which should be available from reception but they didn’t have any during our stay. Hence I had to park my car about a mile away from the hotel. I can certainly recommend breakfast which was hot, well presented and plentiful. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and well decorated.

Very good, but could easily be better
The Crown provides an excellent base to visit Harrogate. Parking is always an issue but due to my partner’s disability we were allocated a space for the final two nights. We did not eat in the hotel but we met members of her family in the lounge which was very comfortable. The room we had was the best we have had in several stays but the television didn’t work (didn’t miss it at all) and the shower was never warm and the flow was very poor. Every member of staff we met was excellent and very friendly. I have little doubt we will stay at The Crown again, hopefully the shower will be better next time.

Dissappointed stay
Having stopped at the crown on lots of occasions, usually in a front facing room, we stayed in room 241 at the back of the hotel. The room was dark and dismal with a small temperamental tv, we tried to change rooms, but were unable as the hotel was quite full. The Crown hotel used to have a cooked breakfast that was the envy of all the Harrogate hotels, but sadly the quality and choice has declined over the past couple of years (fried eggs available at special request) and is not the value for money it used to be. This is the first time I've ever given a negative review of the Crown hotel and maybe we were unlucky with the room.

Not quite a jewel in the Crown.
The staff were very friendly. The food was good, apart from the dessert. The room was a bit grubby and the view of a wall and weeds in the gutter was disappointing. However, it’s a magnificent building in a great location and we would go again.

Great place to stay
Stayed here before. Good atmosphere. Room ok. Went on one of the freezing days. It was snowing but created a good Christmas scene. Staff helpful Good position to get into Harrogate Defo stay again

We have been twice now to celebrate our children's wedding anniversary. Sadly my daughter in law was killed. The staff are friendly and courteous. A manager moved his car to give me a parking space as I'm disabled. The food was excellent.

We have stayed here a few times as it represents great value for money and perfectly located. Only minor observation that the breakfast wasn’t as good as usual (included in the price though so another tick).

OK but not exceptional
Overall it was relaxing and comfortable. The Dining and Breakfast experiences weren't so good.....breakfast mainly due to large numbers of guests breakfasting at the same time and the staff were overloaded with different demands! Items ran out . Also the Bar didn't have any proper Ale, Tonic water, or Pinot Grigiot.......

Upon arrival I couldn’t open the bathroom door, felt like kicking it but didn’t. Reception staff told me that it wasn’t stuck I just needed to kick it! My room was a cost double except it wasn’t cozy - the radiator didn’t work and the heated towel rail in the bathroom wasn’t heated. I found a heater in the wardrobe and used that but it only heated the room if you were nearby. I reported all this straightaway was told it would be sorted, but it wasn’t. So sleeping happened with socks a jumper and a double quilt (great in the Summer, must be 4.5 tog) folded over. As for dinner, I was told to just go sit anywhere so I did. Others were getting jugs of water and menus but I was just left waiting. Had to get up to go request a menu & some water, food wasn’t great and not worth £25. Breakfast was ok, warm and some variety. Prior to my stay the hotel sent a message by email via Expedia offering upgrades which included dinner at £20 instead of £25 so I booked this. But when I came to pay reception staff said it didn’t apply because it was Expedia who sent the message, not the hotel. What?! I had to speak to the manager and told him about my cold room not being sorted and being charged £25 for dinner. He empathized by saying I hadn’t had a good stay and charged me £20 for dinner - no reduction for the lack of heating. On the positive the bed was really comfortable and would’ve been perfect if the room had been warmer, and it was really quiet. Also the hotel is well placed for the town
