Cheap stop over in York

Posted 10-Feb-2016
Fancied a day night in York so booked here for a Sunday night as seemed good value , the rooms were clean and the staff were polite. Big selling point over the travelodges in York is it had its own car park which was free and took hassle out of carting cases across the busy roads. All in all a very good value for money stay will definitely go back as love York

Good hotel close to the centre

Posted 03-Feb-2016
Pros: Comfy bed, quiet, close to city centre and race course.
Cons: Some fittings were a little tired; lights didn't work first time, shower gel not fitted to wall and wooden panel warped.
Location: Very short walk to the city centre and easily walkable to the racecourse. Plenty of local pubs nearby, Costa and Sainsbury's also.
Nice hotel, some features look a little tired but generally very clean, comfy and quiet. Friendly and welcoming staff. Nice bar and a pool table to.

Great hotel in the centre of York

Posted 29-Jan-2016
Pros: The location, how modern it was and facilities.
Cons: Noise heard between floors.
Checkin was extremely fast and getting there from the train station was easy. The room was clean, modern and spacious. The staff were also friendly. The only disadvantage was I could hear the guests above.

pleasant staff

Posted 27-Dec-2015
Pros: location, free parking and pleasant bar/breakfast area.
Cons: Cleanliness of rooms/refurb
Location: York city is a short walk away
Room tired; hairs on tiled wall and mirror stood out; broken lamp; broken towel rail, black/mould around bathroom. Hollow floors, so could hear eveything above; lots of banging.

Close to York centre and railway station which was key to our decision. But just lacking something ... Perhaps a bit of tlc.

Ticks all the boxes

Posted 04-Dec-2015
Pros: No frills, very good service.
Location: The list is endless and the hotel's proximity to the centre of York is a real bonus.
Absolutely no issues with this stay, it does what it says on the tin.

Nice basic hotel

Posted 26-Nov-2015
Pros: Situation.
Cons: The room was cold, and the floor was on a slight slope. This meant that the bed sloped slightly.
Location: Close to the railway station, the National Railway Museum and right next to the city wall.
This was a nice hotel just outside the city wall, and close to the railway station. The room was cold, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. We did not eat in the hotel, so cannot comment on the food.

arrived much later than expected because of flight delay. rang hotel to tell them and they assured us room would still be available. check in was speedy and we were in our room within a few minutes of arrival and fast asleep in a comfortable bed within 15 minutes. XX
