Location: very near all places to visit no need to use the car
very enjoyable stay staff very freindly only small problem is with noise from fans on roof kept us slightly awake sometimes at night but would defenately stay again

Cons: Nothing.
Location: Located not far from the walls and within easy access to York city centre, railway and bus stations.
Good quality hotel, for the price could not be faulted. Clean, very pleasant staff and easy access to York city centre.

Pros: Location
Cons: Some staff are quite cold faced
Location: Train station in walking distance. The city wall is also near.
There are restaurants and shops around and you can walk to the city centre in a few minutes. Room is quiet.

Easy access to the city and railway station

Pros: Staff were excellent
Cons: Outside our room the wallpaper was coming away, which made the hotel look a bit shabby
Location: Ideal location 6 minutes to the railway station and 15 minutes to the city centre, York dungeon was a really good experience,so was the Minster.
Room was clean and tidy, some decoration need in the hallways, breakfast was good, staff excellent, within easy walking distance to the heart of the city and railway station.

Don't stay here!

Pros: When I checked out.
Cons: Everything that I just mentioned in my review.
Location: Really enjoyed visiting York, the Minster, the Shambles, the shopping and the pubs.
I travel quite a bit on holiday to Europe and this is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. The room was barely wide enough to fit the bed so there was no room to put my suit case even on the floor. The air conditioning did not work so the room was chokingly stuffy and there is ***no room phone***. Need an extra towel? You have to go to the front desk and wait for someone to show up. What would happen if you had a medical emergency and don't have a cell phone??? Obviously you cannot get a wake up call. I've stayed in better youth hostels than this dump.

Location: smashing city. Wow.
Staff helpful, friendly and knowledgeable in the art of customer service. Totally surprised as my expectations were low given the value of the stay.

Good central hotel.

Pros: Closeness to railway station and centre of the town. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: A decent seat in the room, would be handy, along with more storage space.
Location: Location ideal for nice restaurants or a short walk into the centre of the town, either by the road straight in or the City Wall, which is wonderful.
If the room had been more spacious, I wouldn't have had any complaints at all about this hotel. The location is ideal, for transport and enjoying the city centre. Restaurants and eateries very close by and are good. Unfortunately if you are staying for more than one night, there are no drawer or shelf space and little hanging space for clothes. Therefore, unfortunately I wont use this hotel again.
