Ok hotel

Posted 22-Apr-2017
Hotel was ok. It was fine just for the one night wouldn't stay any longer than that. Bedrooms are far too small you can't move in them. There was some work needed done outside my bedroom door as the wall was breaking. Wouldn't go again

Clean and quiet hotel near to the centre of York

Posted 04-Apr-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: A slightly larger room would have been nice
Location: Easily accessible to the centre and plenty of shopping, food and drinking establishments
Room was clean, not overly large, but sufficient for a one night stay. Very quiet in and around the hotel and a short walk to the centre. We were able to check in early which was an added bonus.

Must visit York

Posted 22-Mar-2017
Pros: Close to the center of York. Walking distance to see the attractions and be in the middle of the old town in minutes
Cons: more pillows. found then one on the bed a little too soft. Not impressed with the additional charge for parking. this should be free for guests!
Location: Its York.. full of history and places to see and experience. even York races.
All i can say is York is a must see for everybody. Ive not been since my school day out days a long time ago. The town is fascinating, steeped in history, good pubs, great restaurants and bars. Will be going back. Need more than one day to get round the town and see everything. Very interesting for all ages including kids. Viking center, river boat trip, open top bus tour, the cathedral the old town and the buildings and shops. The hotel was nice friendly close to amenities.

Hotel Ibis, York

Posted 19-Mar-2017
Everything was great for the first 2 nights. Then some guests moved in to the adjoining room next to ours. It was like they were in the room with us. The door that seperated us had zero sound proofing properties so we could hear their entire conversation about teabags until half 1 in the morning. In the morning we told the reception staff and they offered a room move for us which we accepted. The remaining night was the best one we had there. The second room was smaller than the first but also quieter in general and most importantly, no inter-connecting door. Overall the hotel was good. Only 10 minutes walk from the centre of York and very easy to find.

Basic hotel convenient for city centre attractions

Posted 16-Mar-2017
Pros: Price, cleanliness, room comfort & facilities. Convenient location.
Cons: Sound proofing between rooms.
Location: Perfect location for York city centre & all the shops, restaurants and tourist attractions.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the city centre and close to the rail station. A very convenient tourist location. Clean, comfortable rooms - good for the price we paid. However it is an old building with very thin walls. We could here speaking voices from the room next door & were kept awake at night by more noise from adjoining rooms.

Very basic

Posted 15-Mar-2017
Pros: Location wasn't too far away from the railway station
Cons: Clean curtains, attention to booking info and key cards that work.
Location: Location was fine.
The curtains had a huge stain down them that appeared to have been there for some time. I booked a room with twin beds but was given a room with a double bed, so had to request a change. On returning to the room later in the evening the key card did not work and therefore I had to go down to the front desk and request another key card that would work.

Would definitely recommend!!

Posted 01-Mar-2017
Pros: Great location, customer service and breakfast
Cons: Bigger bedss
Location: Visit Betties and amble round the shambles.
Great location, close to the train station and the city centre. Staff were fantastic and so helpful. Girls on the desk were lovely and were more than willing to offer recommendations for places to visit, call taxis and research routes for us. Breakfast was exceptional, wasn't expecting such a spread. Huge variety of pastries and hot drinks. Only issue was the beds, they were really slim and so I didn't have a great nights sleep. Also, the lock on the bathroom door was broke.
