Exceeded our expectations

Posted 18-Jul-2016
Pros: Nice rooms, nice breakfast.
Cons: Enter a business arrangement with a local laundromat so families can get large loads of laundry done in bulk rather than charging per item.
Location: Location isn't great. Don't go to the Castle Museum - it has nothing to do with Castles other than there being a tower across the street.
Very nice hotel just inside the city walls, but not too convenient to most of the attractions. Walkable to the entire city for a family of four if your kids are willing to walk a lot. A north/west location nearer to Mickelgate would have been more convenient to the major attractions. Laundry prices were very expensive so we took our laundry to a laundromat 5 blocks away and did a week of laundry for 33 pounds Sterling instead of several hundred.

Modern, short walk to restaurants and shambles.

Posted 03-Jul-2016
Pros: Modern and clean.
Cons: More car parking for guests.
Location: Great location, 5 minute walk to restaurants and beautiful cobbled streets.
This was a great hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful and our room was very comfortable. We arrived at around 7pm and hadn't reserved a car park so the car park was full. You might want to think about reserving a car park if you are arriving late in the day. There were alternative car parks close by, so it wasn't a huge problem, just slightly inconvenient.

Room Comfort

Posted 02-Jul-2016
My wife and I are average height so a clothes hanging rack suited to 6 feet plus people was a 'pain', I had to hang my wife's clothes up as she could not reach properly. For more than one night the drawer space was inadequate and a second luggage rack is needed to if two people have to live out of their suitcases. The other room facilities were fine.

convenient location, too small room.

Posted 20-Jun-2016
Pros: the location
Cons: As I mentioned, the security for the hotel needs to improve.
Location: it just a 5 min walk to city centre. There are plenty of convenient stores and pubs around.
The hotel itself is pretty new and with very each reach to city centre. The room I booked for my mum and brother was a twin room but it was far too small than I expected. You won't be able to place yourself between those 2 tiny beds. It just looked like a double bed with a hardly noticed gap there. And the whole room doesn't have too much other space for you to open your luggages and move around. The check-in took a relatively long time as the I can see the staffs were new so didn't familiar with the system. One surprising thing is the security of the hotel. The lift is not resident card control, which means everyone is able to gain access to any floor. I don't think it is safe for a hotel which locates near to the town where all the clubs and pubs are.

Nice hotel but rooms can get very very warm.

Posted 19-Jun-2016
There's no air con so rooms can get hot very quickly during night. Didnt want to and couldnt leave window open at might due to noise, so either had to put up with heat or noise. Apart from that i was impressed by this hotel!
