Good hotel, enjoyed our stay.

Posted 20-Apr-2017
Hotel is in a good location, perfect for our family trip in York. Our children wanted to walk the walls and there is one behind the hotel. Close to Jorvik centre and other attractions. We had breakfast at the hotel which was very good, staff were polite and helpful. Our room was clean. Only thing that bothered us was that there is no air-conditioning and our room was hot during the night with 4 of us sleeping there. It was too noisy to have the window open. Could have done with more pillows on the bed too as we only had one each.

Not good value for money

Posted 10-Apr-2017
Hotel and rooms not as big as the pictures. Staff were nice and friendly, breakfast was avaerage. I was asked to pay more money so I can add breakfast for my family which is fine but they miscalculated it. Following day, they asked for money again claiming that what I paid was only for one night (received a email from them saying what I paid is for the stay). I argued that money was paid for a stay not for one day and they had to agree. Hotel not well managed. Wouldn't recommend for £150/night !

Good functional hotel

Posted 10-Apr-2017
Didn't really use the hotel facilities as older relatives were staying in a nearby larger hotel which I used more. My room was better than theirs however, especially the large bed. Good points - has everything needed Including Nespresso machine, well designed bathroom and easy regulated heating. Small bad point - the safety flex on the kettle was so short that it could not be totally flat and has to be placed in front of the mirror which fogged the mirror.

Nice hotel but

Posted 28-Mar-2017
This is a nice hotel but there is no food available on a weekend ? We stayed just for 1 night on a sunday. There is also no parking at the hotel and we had to drive to a large carpark nr the river aprox 5mins away and park there over night . The hotel charged us £10 for this.
Comment from Hotel Management

Dear Amanda, Thank you for your comments. The restaurant isn't as busy on weekends, with so many great restaurants within close proximity to the hotel we decide not to open on a Saturday and Sunday. We do have three car parks all within walking distance. The price is what the car parks charge us for the permits. Guest are more than welcome to find alternative parking, if they prefer, which we are more than happy to assist with but it is a longer walk for cheaper parking with the further out of town you go. We hope this doesn't defer you from staying with us and hope to see you again.

hotel close to everything...

Posted 08-Mar-2017
Pros: Quiet location but close to everything.
Cons: Provide hair conditioner and slippers to guests.
Location: Basically not far from all the attractions.
Stayed here for one night with a friend. The hotel was quite new and all the attractions are appoximately 10-20 mins walk away. The room was very clean. I just wished they had conditioner.

Close to the city centre

Posted 26-Feb-2017
Pros: Clea, bright and modern. Well looked after
Location: Lots to do and everything is within walking distance
The hotel is very modern and the upkeep excellent. This was my second visit and will not be my last. The staff are friendly. We did not use the dining room this time it is rather pricey there are loads of good eateries just minutes away. Good parking facilities.

Perfect for short stay in York

Posted 30-Jan-2017
Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was very good. Really good location of hotel for the city centre, attractions , restaurants. The room was comfortable and very clean.Restaurant wasn't open for dinner on Saturday night or Sunday night, but there were plenty of restaurants to choose from not far from the hotel. We stayed 2 nights and will stay there again next time we are in York.
