We love this place and have stayed there many times over the years. We also take all our friends from abroad to stay, as it is such an experience for them. It's so quiet and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful trees. The highlight are the kangaroos, coming really close to the cottages, and the variety of birds you can observe from the verandah.
If you love nature, this is your place!

Beautiful peaceful wood cabins hard up against the Karri forest. A lovely way to get back to the life of our childhood - even if only for a few days.
Chris(property owner) was so helpful and everything is provided so that your stay is stress free and totally enjoyable. It is a beautiful property and super quiet with lovely walks nearby. Would absolutely recommend this property.
We love the location in the middle of nature. The cottages are surrounded by kangaroos and birds, and at night there's only the sound of crickets while you're watching the stars.
Tinglewood Cabins is a great place to wind down and get closer to nature, especially with the relaxing sounds of nature and fresh air. We enjoyed the stay very much and the owners are also very friendly.
Chris and Sharon were delightful hosts. They were friendly and ready to offer assistance if required. Nothing was too much trouble and their knowledge of the area was helpful. The property was very clean and comfortable. Thank you both for a lovely stay, we will return.

The cabin was amazingly clean and the kitchen was well stock with utensils. Loved the birds and kangaroos that came out in the mornings and evenings. I enjoyed the fireplace. Chris and Sharon were very friendly and helpful. The only downside is no wifi in the cabin.
Absolutely loved our two night stay at Tinglewood - wish we could have stayed longer. The setting is perfect and the cabin was lovely - comfortable facilities and we were met by the owner who was full of useful information. The most amazing thing is the location - looking out from your veranda onto kangaroos roaming around and Cookaburras right outside the window. We will definitely be back for longer next time. Thanks for a great visit!
Our recent stay at Tinglewood cabins was excellent, nothing was too much trouble even though we were probably difficult visitors. Gary’s helpfulness was much appreciated. The cabin was comfortable and although we didn’t use them had full kitchen amenities. The location was beautiful and quiet with kookaburras visiting in the mornings. The wood fire was a lifesaver as even at this time of the year it was a cold weekend. Over all a great stay!

Not where I'd choose....
....with more initial information. Owner absolutely adorable, friendly and helpful - but no view from cottage in any direction - just trees round the field and too close to the other chalets. Felt uncomfortable when went outside after personal conversation from toilet and found a neighbour between the two chalets - seemingly grinning at what had been heard.
No TV in bedroom.

We were very disappointed to read your review, we have been in operation for over 18 years and have never received a review of this nature.
Our toilet is separate off the laundry and meets with all Shire regulations and requirements as far as sizing.
If you were unable to close the toilet door then for privacy, surely you would close the back door and the curtain.
Our chalets offer a unique Australian forest setting as advertised on our website and all booking engines. They are approximately 20m apart and offer more than sufficient privacy in a group environment.
We have never advertise TVs in bedrooms.
For future accommodation we suggest you find a unit that has a toilet within the main bathroom area which will provide more space.
Relaxing stay with shy Kangaroos and naughty kookaburras. Thank heavens no phone coverage or Internet in Cabins. Really Restful.

Thank you for your comments, most appreciated.
Yes we are in a very beautiful part of the forested area, peace and tranquillity in abundance and yet only 6 minutes from town.
Telstra will provide phone coverage and internet is available from our office for those who need a fix.

We didn’t stay
The owners were not there. There was a message board in the office window telling us where to find the accomodation and that the key was on the table. The place was isolated. There were no other guests. A man arrived, introduced himself as a cousin of the owner. He gave us a quick rundown on the rules for fires etc. He gave us no other information about where he was staying or who we could contact if there was a problem. I would have appreciated a message from the owners telling us of the unusual setup. Instead, I had to ask the cousin for their phone number and I had to call them myself. I was travelling alone with my teenage daughter. We left because we didn’t feel safe. The owners kept the full nights fee and didn’t offer any discount. On a more positive note, if my husband had been with me or if the owners had been there, we probably would have stayed. The place was isolated but peaceful. The accomodation looked fine.
Our most memorable stay so far. We travel much and Tinglewoods Cabins is very special. I love the immediate surroundings; the beauty and rustling of the trees, the visiting kangaroos and birds, the cabin itself is wonderful with the fireplace and the electric blankets made sleeping a bliss. I would love to visit this place again and spend a good week just soaking in the place and chill. Its a perfect place to unwind.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, it was a pleasure to have you stay.
We believe that we offer a very special environment, a true capture of the Australian forest and love nothing more than to share it with our wonderful guests. So please to know that you loved it too.
Thank you once again, we look forward to having you stay with us in the future
Right from the greeting received by Dylis and Garry to the chalets and the grounds... huge trees, amazing views of the valley and the forest trails to explore. The stay is always a pleasure. So many things close by like the giant treetop walk, giant old fire look out trees you can climb (120m up), metal art walk in the forest.... love it here so much!!!
Lovely cabins nestled in the forest. Quiet & cozy.
The cabins are about 9 km north of Walpole, tucked away among big Karri trees. They are clean, comfortable and cozy. The owners were very welcoming and lovely to chat to. It was very windy and cold for March, and once the fire was lit it became a lovely, warm cabin. Kookaburras, kangaroos and sheep wander around the property.
