Manaus Centro is noteworthy for its theatres, and you can make a stop at top attractions like Teatro Amazonas and Port of Manaus.
North Region
Meander along trails with stunning views in the national parks and encounter a great range of wildlife and flora around the Amazon River.
The North Region is a vast and varied stretch of terrain with the world’s most iconic river as its heart. The region consists of several large cities and towns interspersed with Amazonian villages. Stay overnight in lodges in the dense Amazon rainforest and trek through the immense jungle.
Note that the huge jungle has an area of more than half the country. It has the world’s second-longest river, with many villages and communities on its banks. Travel along the river via canoe or boat and spot the majestic dolphins and other exotic animals that are part of this enormous ecosystem.
Visit some of the indigenous settlements around the river. The largest and most well-known city is Manaus, where you can embark on all manner of tours. Make your way through the Amazonas state for its spectacular terrain.
The Parque Nacional do Pico da Neblina has a rocky terrain you might not expect from Amazonian Brazil. Gaze up at the country’s highest peak of Pico da Neblina, at 9,827 feet (2,995 metres) above sea level. Take boat trips between the remote and spectacular islands in the Parque Nacional do Jáu, which contains protected animals such as leopards, jaguars and manatees among others.
Typifying the region’s rich diversity is the state of Pará, which runs from the sandy stretches by the Atlantic Ocean to the heart of the area. Stroll through the centre of the port city of Belém and capture photos of the Portuguese colonial architecture in the old town area of Cidade Velha.
This area occupies a vast stretch of land in the northern part of Brazil, running from the Atlantic Coast to the country’s borders with Peru and Colombia. Fly to Belém Val de Cans International Airport or the Eduardo Gomes International Airport in Manaus. Get around the region via long-haul buses and take water taxis down the Amazon River.
The national parks and colonial and indigenous settlements along the river are the beating heart of the North Region.

Staff was very nice and polite, no exception. The location is very handy if you want to be from walking distance to the famous Ver-O-Peso and Ver-O-Rio areas. The breakfast was very good, a decent selection of food, that will set you up for the day ahead.

ibis budget Belem
Clean room, great location. I stayed here only two weeks prior and had a great experience. In checking in this time, an unfriendly agent told me they had a new check-in policy that only accepted 3:00 p.m. check-ins when it had been noon previously. With the new policy only in place for a few days, ...
