"Not a typical hotel room, it's so much more!"
If you are looking for a cookie cutter hotel in Normandy this is not the place for you. If you are looking for an experience you may want to take a long hard look at staying in this unique establishment. The Junogite begins its uniqueness in the fact the building itself was built in 1780, has a nearly 900 year old church essentially in its back yard, and is a short distance from the beaches that the allies stormed on D-day! Not your typical place to stay indeed. Your caretaker Alexander speaks wonderful English and is happy to help anyway he can. Bicycles can be rented by the day and you can easily ride around the village and see the sites. The rooms themselves are decorated simply but tastefully, are clean and offer plenty of room. We had a studio on the ground floor with a comfortable bed, a table to eat at and a kitchenette for making your own meals. There were big windows that opened allowing plenty of fresh air in which was a nice treat. The shower was hot, had good pressure and was spacious. If you are looking for the prototypical hotel this is not the place for you, but if you like your travel experiences to be a little quirky and adventurous this place should be right up your alley.

"Where to stay in Arromanches"
This is a charming hotel within walk of the shoreline and the nearby village. The proprietor could not have been nicer or friendlier. He made it clear he was there to serve his guests and he did so with warmth, friendliness, and efficiency. We were a family of four, and when he realized the two children with my wife and me were adults he moved us into two separate rooms rather than the single "family" room we had booked. And he did this without our requesting it and at no extra charge! If you are staying in this area, head for Les Villas d'Arromanches. You will NOT be disappointed.

"Loved the location. Loved the hotel!"
I was a wee bit weary after booking this stay and reading through dozens of reviews. I'm glad I didn't cancel based on what some people had to say.. The facilities were clean, comfortable, and it was easy to settle in. Like a home away from home. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment/townhome, and thus far in all of my travels, I have to say it was the nicest aparthotel we've booked! The 3 bedroom was just the perfect size for our family of six. It had a back porch outfitted with patio furniture which was a nice touch. One person mentioned they had to pay for use of towels and linens. I didn't. The only catch was that we had to make our own beds with linens provided in a sealed bag, but that was not a hassle. Towels were provided. Pots, pans, dishes, were all provided. The staff was nice and helpful. No faults there. We LOVED the location. Just a quick walk to the Juno beach shore made for some wonderful sunset evenings. My kids didn't want to leave! Pretty close to all major D-Day sights without the hassle of staying in big city Caen. There's a huge Carrefour about 1.5 km away, and a smaller city chain within a few minutes walk.A few restaurants nearby, too. The only thing I disliked was the lobby hours. I didn't realize the lobby opened at 9am on the day of our check-out, but we were ready to leave around 8am. Needing a receipt and to hand in keys, we couldn't just take off. If I ever return to the area, no question, I will stay here again!

"Lovely hotel"
The hotel was well kept, comfortable and close to the beach. Only 4 stars because we were there at peak summer and the parking was very limited so we had to double park French style and keep an eye out for a space to free up. Also for anyone with a family be aware the stairs up to the mezzanine with the twin beds are a little narrow and the toilet is downstairs. We ended up with our 4 year old in the double bed with dad and me upstairs sharing with the 7 year old for safety sake. We were able to book a table in the restaurant overlooking the sea for dinner and the food was absolutely lovely. We had to leave early for the ferry next morning so can't comment on the breakfast facilities.

"Million Dollar view of Omaha Beach"
The hotel was lovely, staff fantastic I can't remember the ladies name who owns the hotel but she was very welcoming and friendly, made me feel I should learn French more as we are in France but she tried her best with English. The room we were given for our 3 night stay was lovely but in need a bit of updating e.g. the lamp was crumbling and the shower struggled to stay up but this would be forgotten easily with the amazing view of Omaha beach, it was fantastic. Unfortunately our arrival was the last week before the hotel closed for 4 months so the bar was closed downstairs but it was to our benefit as the whole area/hotel was so quiet and peaceful. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Du Casino again. Wi Fi worked fine and there was a choice of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the Hotel. If you are a fish lover then this is the place to dine for you. Really enjoyed our break away and to pay our respects to so may brave men and women who gave their lives so we could have our freedom. The Hotel is situated directly off the beach 60 seconds away. Lovely hotel, lovely staff and amazing area. Thanks - Marc and Brandon Locks - Angleterre
