Mixed feelings about our stay at this property.
Curb appeal invites you in, but once you get on the ride, it is extremely bumpy.
Arrived and was initially placed in a run down, off resort location called the Jamaican building. Building is down the street from main resort and amenities and had its own parking lot, NOT the resort parking garage. The room was semi updated, but had a musty old smell. It is not what was pictured on the website. Feeling like we were mistaking placed, I went back to the front desk and was told that we were placed there because we booked 3rd party. I took this to be a lie because we had friends that booked on Travelocity and they were placed in the Dominican Tower on the main resort. I was told to contact Expedia as they would need to contact the property to authorize a move for us to the resort.
I did just that. Went back and forth with Expedia who told me that the hotel places guests, not Expedia, but offered to call the property to request a move. They were not able to get in touch with anyone using the only number he claimed he could call and that all he could go is offer me 100 dollars one key cash for the inconvenience and we would have to request a move from the hotel on our own.
Spoke w/ different agent and after speaking with their manager got moved to nicer room on resort.
Minimal issues in room that were fixed.
Laundry Room mostly broken.
Arcade machines broken.
Pool bar closed early
Pools minimally maintained and dirty.
