Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort

10/10 Excellent

"Super nice hotel, staff friendly , rooms nice and clean ( get a room with pool view ). We were there end of June so plenty of sun loungers by upper and lower pool and also by the beach . Breakfast buffet amazing , Mexican restaurant top choice for lunch , the fine dining restaurant superb . It’s worth walking down the road to try the local restaurant/s too . We went twice during our 7 day stay . Kotor old town, beautiful ! Only 15 min or so from Kotor but taxi is a rip off , 20 euro there and 30 euro back ( after significant negotiation ) there is a bus alternative but unreliable schedule . Take a boat trip , we took a private hire , def worth it , arranged by hotel . Gym is well equipped , tried a nice deep tissue massage as well and loved it !"

"Our stay at Apartment Olive near Kotor was nothing short of exceptional. The location was absolutely perfect—close to everything you could possibly need, making it easy to explore and enjoy the beauty of the area without any hassle. From the moment we arrived, the owner made us feel incredibly welcome. Their friendliness and genuine hospitality set the tone for the entire stay, and they went above and beyond by providing excellent information about the local area, helping us make the most of our time there. The apartment itself was immaculate in every way—spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It truly felt like a home away from home. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the view. It was simply breathtaking and is something that will stay with us for a very long time. This trip was especially meaningful as we were celebrating our son’s 18th birthday, and Apartment Olive provided the perfect setting to make the occasion truly special. We would highly recommend this lovely apartment to anyone looking to stay near Kotor—it’s a place we would happily return to again."

"We had a lovely stay at R Palazzo. While the hotel is beautiful and the views are breathtaking, it was the staff that really made it special. Everyone who works there is personable, professional, and makes you feel like a VIP guest. They remember your morning coffee orders, ensure you have everything you need, and are just incredibly pleasant to have around. You won't regret staying here."

Palazzo del Mare - Essenza

"A very mixed experience at Palazzo del Mare....a tad Fawty Towers! The hotel website describes a restaurant on site. This was not the case and the kitchen was still being built when we were there. The manager pointed out to us that other restaurants were only a short walk away - which wasn't really the point. The hotel looks great at the outset but has the feeling that it was thrown up while skipping many corners. Temperatures at night were in the low 30s and the air conditioning in our room shut down at 3am three nights in a row and didn't return. Despite advertising that their reception is 24 hours, there was never anyone available in the middle of the night. After the first sleepless night, we let the lovely staff at reception know and they told us the engineer was coming to look at it. After the second sleepless night, we were a little more peeved and were told we could speak to the manager 'down at the bar'. He offered us a free drink which we declined and promised it wouldn't happen again. Sure enough it did happen again and was only fixed at 4am. On communicating that this wasn't good enough, we were comp'd our spa massages and assured a refund of one night stay. He took our bank details but 5 weeks later, no such refund and he has ignored our messages. Overall: beautiful views, lovely reception staff, poor breakfast, corners cut (e.g. bathrooms have no shelves and lighting is non existent, shower floods room after use) and extremely unprofessional manager."

"Staff were very helpful and the bar was open late and they did food which was great. However the room and building could have been cleaner, and it felt a little run down. Small things like lack of lift made an big impact. Also pool is away for bar area so you don't get anyone coming to offer drinks (its up a hill beside a different building). That being said I think if you ordered at the bar the helpful staff would bring it to you. It's also a little out of the way and the bus service is not great. Overall for the price and fantastic staff it's perfectly fine. Just go in with your eyes open."

"This was one of our favorite hotels on our trip to Croatia and Montenegro. It’s a small boutique hotel and had a small pool and very comfortable lounge chairs by the sea. Breakfast was very good. The only negative thing to say is be careful when you dine at their restaurant. We had lunch and it was so good we decided to eat dinner there, despite some negative reviews about the pricing. Well, it turns out that if you order anything on the menu that is priced by grams, be careful. We shared a lobster dinner and when we got the bill it was 250 euro for just that one entree! Our total bill was over 450 euro which is just crazy. The waiter was not very clear about the pricing on the entree and we got the impression it would be about 80 euro for that entree. Apparently they charged us as a 3 pound lobster but there’s no way it was 3 pounds! I have read many complaints about this and I guess I should have known better but our lunch was reasonable. Just don’t order anything special that there’s no distinct price!!! I reported this to the front desk when I checked out and I really hope they report this to management. This is a real problem at their restaurant as I read numerous complaints about being ripped off."
