This is a lovely quiet hotel within walking distance of the busy central Cologne. The staff couldn't be more helpful, even ensuring we had a room on arrival 4 hours before the official check in time. We were even offered refreshments while we waited. The room is clean and the towels etc changed every day. Supermarkets, cafes etc within easy walking distance. Id definitely recommend if you want the peace away from the hustle and bustle of central Cologne.

Other reviewers said that this hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment. Absolutely true. It OK, but not great. everything looks a little worn out.
Beds are really comfy though, and the shower is excellent. Food is mediocre, unless you only eat fruit - there was a lot of fruit! Staff were friendly, in particular the older man on reception who was really helpful.

I was originally placed in a room that was stuffy, smelt mildew, like it had been closed up for some time. I went down to the front counter and requested a room change. Lovely hotel with lovely staff. It’s walkable to the old town but not close. Having a car would be better in this location or taxi’s, which are readily available. We drove all around Germany and this was the easiest hotel to park. The staff is lovely and made our stay fantastic.
