It all ended up fine, it just made me a little nervous as I was also having issues with the VRBO app making it difficult to check messages. When we settled in for our visit, the bathroom was not cleaned to match the rest of the condo and this was dissappointing. The area around the apartment is quiet and safe, lots of tourists walking by the building all day and never a problem.
