Upgrades were offered at a charge of double the room rate, concierge was unwilling to assist at most times, especially after we declined the hotel tour packages. "Rooms are large, well furnished and very clean. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, although I think might not have english speaking staff member that you might find in a large chain hotel. Food is all made by the onsite chef, and while a bit limited in choice, is very tasty and not too expensive.
