Staff were fine, breakfast was slightly ok, the yogart and refrigerated food got warm and runny. They are in the middle of remodeling, which was evident everywhere. Room smelled strongly of cleaner, yet floors were dirty, hair all around and in the tub/shower. Furniture was dusty. Seems like they need to check on their housekeepers. Parking was good, lots of room for truck and trailer. Good location, but would not stay here again.

830 pm arrival and soon thereafter I was asking for a broom and dustpan to sweep the dirty floors and clean up the corners of cobwebs and some dead bugs. Waste basket in bathroom hadn’t been emptied so I took that down to front desk. No washcloths nor cups for drinking or having a cup of coffee/tea nor did I want one after seeing the condition of the coffee maker with a coffee packet stuck in the upper part of machine. The bed was made, clean and comfortable. I have crossed this unit off my list as we do travel across Iowa couple of times a year. Great welcoming and very apologetic morning staff when I responded “not so well” to her question “how did you enjoy your stay?”. She was hoping to make an adjustment but couldn’t since we had booked through Expedia.

It is obvious they are making improvements; however, I had read online that the renovation was completed and that was not the case. The hallways had buckets and ladders etc laying around. The fitness room was dark - after walking around a ladder on the floor I got inside. Equipment looks newer, but no treadmill & room wasn’t finished. At breakfast, around 6:30 am, a guy was banging on the front door to be let in. I saw no one around and that door was held shut by a chain/lock. Finally someone came to the door to open it, but they looked like they had just crawled out of bed. The room itself was nice for the price. The “Welcome mat” from the outside has a lot to be desired.

Less that expected for the cost

Check in was not smooth since we wanted to pay with a different card that the room was reserved with. Ended up having to pay cash and even that was a struggle. Room still wasn’t ready for us at 4pm and the maintenance guy brought sheets and towels and ended up making the bed for us. Pretty cool guy. I never did see a maid, although my partner spoke to her once.

Place is extremely run down. Dirty, old, dark, dingy. Floors were dirty. Refrigerator was filthy. No outside doors locked. Anyone could walk in. Our room door was so warped you had to throw your body at it to open and close it. Walls were dirty. Anything metal was rusted. AC barely worked. No way was i going to eat there. Sheets were never changed in 3 nights, bed never made. My pillow was abot 8 inches tall and 8 inches wide. Hole in a wall. Just totally dusgusting!!!!!!!

Very poorly kept place. Ceiling tiles in the bathroom were falling down. Spiders in the room. Typical cleaner smell. Noisy AC unit. Entry doors looked like they had been broke into. Good thing is close to great dinning options
