You are spoilt for choice with things to do in the local area, from cliff walks along the coastal path or out onto Porth Island with its Bronze Age archeological site, to exciting water sports such as body boarding. However, if it is relaxation you are wanting, this glorious stretch of sand is ideal for lazy days in the sun. The seaside village of Porth offers a range of cafés and pubs to enjoy, or spend a day unwinding at the spa located at a local hotel a short walk away. There is a friendly pub just across the beach serving local ales and home cooked food, a favourite with visitors and locals alike. The pub offers a terrace that is right on the sand! Golf, horse riding, surf lessons and bike hire are all available locally. Porth is just a short walk from the popular coastal town of Newquay. The owners were always on call but we didn’t need to bother them at any point during our stay and we will be going back when we come back to Cornwall. The Pub on the Beach, which is a short walk across the beach, does lovely food. The coastal walk into Newquay is shorter than we expected, and a meal at Lusty Glaze is a must. The Colonial, a bit further along, is really good as well.
