Awesome near the beach

We really loved our stay at the Pampered Puffin. You can walk to the beach in 5-7 minutes and to good places to eat in the same. Highly recommend it.

Beautiful house near the beach

What a lovely house in a lovely area. Close to the beach and all the shops of Nye Beach. Cute ocean decor and all the household items you might need for your stay. Fit our needs perfectly.

Great!

The house was perfect for us and the dogs. Everything was super clean and in good shape. There were some stains on the carpet and couch, but that is to be expected in a dog-friendly rental I think. Good communication with hosts and amazing proximity to the beach, restaurants and stores!

This home is full of everything you need. Kitchen is stocked nicely with every pot/pan utensil you need to prepare a full course meal. Lots of games, books. movies to keep you entertained. Love the decor. Location is perfect In Newport.

Great house within walking distance of everything you need

We rented this house so our families could visit us. Worked perfectly. Close enough for almost everyone to visit for a day. We loved being close to two restaurants with amazing food, for those days we didn’t want to make for ourselves. You won’t regret visiting Zach’s. Great food, wonderful guy. Very clean house with everything you need for your stay. Early morning knitting by the fireplace was great.

A Delightful Stay!

This is the 4th time we’ve stayed at the Pampered Puffin. Love it here! Nye Beach is a great location. The house was very clean. The desk in the upstairs bedroom has a lovely view of the ocean that makes working during our trip so much nicer. The kitchen is great, well appointed and big enough to move around in. The picnic table outside is an amazing place to eat outside and enjoy the view.

A gem

I would stay here again. The house was nicely equipped in the kitchen, plenty of bath towels. The only thing missing were boxes of tissues, which would’ve been nice. Other than that, the place was excellent, lots of games, puzzles, bathrooms were nice. I recommend it.

Pampered Puffin Pampered Us

Thank you to the Pampered Puffin for a great weekend! Because of sickness, half of our group was unable to attend, but the Pampered Puffin lived up to it's name and pampered the 3 of us that were able to enjoy its charms. We found our family together-time teaming with love and joy and comfort the minute we walked in! Everything was welcoming and inspired the best of comfort and peace. I have always said I come to the Oregon Coast for a "REFILL"...The Pampered Puffin did just that for us!!

Great location, just covered in stains.

It felt like everything was covered in stains, we had to wash all the dishes before we could even use them because they were so dirty. The floor felt extremely sticky so definitely not taking off my shoes. However, it is an a great location.

Great Location

The price was right, the location was perfect, the staff was helpful and prompt. The house worked very well for our family. Our youngest loved the little cot in the master closet! Beds were very comfortable. We did have to alert staff to some cleaning concerns upon our arrival. VERY stinky comforter--we washed it, stickiness on the kitchen floor--we cleaned it, dirty bathroom mirror, dishes put away not entirely clean, and an oven that needed to be cleaned and set off the smoke detector again and again. Other than these cleaning issues, we really loved our stay.

Walk to everything

This is a perfectly situated house in Newport, easily walkable to NYE Beach and the restaurants/shops, along with the historic bayfront. We played yard games in the spacious side yard and found an EV charger just down the street (10 min walk). There is a nice outdoor picnic table as well for dining Al fresco. There is a small market with essentials about 5 mins walk and a larger Thriftway about 10 mins walk. We stayed in the upstairs room and it was quite comfortable. Fans provided for the warmer days but otherwise just open the windows for a refreshing sea breeze.

Lovely Home conveniently located.

Overall it's a lovely spacious home. Can easily accommodate 6 people. Very conveniently located a couple a blocks from everything in Nye Beach. However they need to Fix the lock on the back door. There is NO dead bolt and the code lock is very loose. You could break in very easily. Please either wash the bathroom rugs between customers, or have a second set to put out between customers. The bathroom rugs were NOT clean. The beds are SO firm we were not able to get a good night's sleep. Felt like a layer of foam on a board in the down stairs bed. Happy to have had a washer and dryer, but someone needs to do some cleaning of these appliances. They are pretty dirty. These are easily fixed issues, so I hope they do ? Otherwise, it's a lovely and convenient place to stay.

Great home, amazing location!!

This is such a nice house! It’s very updated with nice furniture, decorated nicely, and everything is fresh and new. Most vacation rentals are very outdated and dirty and everything is falling apart. I definitely appreciated the work put into this home to make it really nice. It’s pet friendly, with a yard. The yard isn’t fenced, but it’s a nice quiet neighborhood. Just a few blocks from Nye Beach and all the restaurants and shops. You can hear the ocean at night. There are homeless people wandering around and they will go through the garbage and recycling bins outside, but we felt safe. I did read some reviews saying there were ants during the summer. Thankfully that wasn’t the case in October. That would have definitely changed my feelings about the home, since I have a bit of an ant phobia. Hopefully that issue can be better addressed during the summer months. I’ve stayed in homes that had an ant problem and it just ruins the whole experience unfortunately. This was such a nice place to stay, and I would definitely stay again!

Great Stay! A couple things that might bother other people in the full review.

The things we noticed were not a big deal for us, but may be for other people. (1) The spare door key lock was set to the code used by us. Meaning that if someone were to walk by and look at the code on one lock, they would have succeeded in entering the house by trying it on the other one. (2) Board games on the shelf are missing so many pieces that they are unplayable, luckily we brought our own games. (3) Verified that the DVD player in the living room would not work. It opens, but either the DVD remote or receiver is broken, as we took out the batteries used on the volume remote that worked to test with the DVD remote. Many fun DVDs for use in the living room were not able to be played. (4) The connected kitchen/main bedroom Bathroom sink was almost totally plugged and drained very slowly. (5) One of the days in the middle of our stay, right after 7am, the smoke detectors went off, two long beeps the first time, and then a few minutes later it repeated the two long beeps two or three more times. Not sure if the power went out or what, perhaps it means the batteries are getting toward the low end? We had a great time and aren't complaining at all, just offering a little constructive criticism and clarity for potential customers.
