We booked a same day reservation here after the first hotel we booked turned out to be terrible. Room was super basic but it was very clean and bed super comfortable as you’d expect at a Hyatt. Walls were quite thin so once guests moved in next to us it was surprisingly loud but until then blissfully quiet. I would say the best part about this hotel is the cleanliness of the rooms and the amenities. Nice fitness centers (with 2 Pelotons!), water fill up stations everywhere, three pools, a 9 hole golf course which is free to play if you’re staying there, other yard games, bike rental (it’s a quick walk or bike ride to Balboa Island) and fire pits with optional s’more roasting. If you have kids this place is a home run. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. My only note of disappointment is that the property is pretty warn out and needs a good refresh (pools/pool furniture etc). You can tell in the early 2000s this place was an incredible resort but it’s been a bit used up since then and could use some updating. This didn’t impact our stay at all however as the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the property/room well made up for the tiredness of the property. We would definitely stay here again when we come back to visit family.

The property was reasonably price and close to beach front. It was a located direct over airport outgoing flight path although the airport restricted outgoing flights until after 8 AM.
