This lodge is family owned and they were extremely nice. They made us feel welcome and provided all help we needed. They are working on remodeling but you can tell they working hard to restore this nostalgic lodge.
My son and I (and two dogs) stayed here for one night during a road trip for hiking. From reading the old reviews it seems like the new owners have really been putting in hard work to bring this place back to life; they are still working on it but everything was clean and amenities have been upgraded from previous photos such as flat screen tv with plenty of satellite channels and a ceiling fan with a remote (which I had to take a picture of because I loved it and want to find one for myself). If you want fancy and new this isn't the place for you but if you are like me and enjoy the motels with midcentury history but modern upgrades, it's a great stay. They accommodated my dogs for a lower pet fee than anywhere else and the customer service couldn't have been any better. I'd definitely stay again.
This "cabin" advertised that it had a hot tub and when I came into the cabin, it had an old cast iron tub in the corner of the room. This is not a hot tub. The bed was as hard as a rock also. Next, the heater was not sufficient enough for the room and I literally almost froze to death. I checked in at around 4 o'clock and had to leave at midnight because I could not get warm. The outside had trash laying everywhere and in my opinion they charged way too much for the "cabin". For $120 I could have stayed at a much much nicer hotel that had far better amenities.
