The hotel itself is nice, but the staff was seemingly always annoyed to be asked for anything. And we always had to wait on the phone for at least 5-10 minutes before being able to talk to the front desk (if they answered at all). The guest service desk was never open when we needed it.
The rooms were hot and stuffy during the day, so we had to request fans. They were cold at night, and the blanket on the bed is actually just a sheet, so we had to request blankets. The desk chair was broken and a light bulb burned out, so we also had to request a back-up chair and a new light bulb. But everything took forever to arrive (at least an hour, often longer). And one day, the staff never cleaned our room and we never received sheets or blankets, so we had to sleep under towels.
There was construction on the whole block out front, so we couldn’t pull up to unload or load our luggage. Had to double park across the street and around the block and lug our bags back and forth across the busy street while one of us waited with the doubled parked car as NYC drivers honked at us.
And there were several roaches in the room.
The parking facility was a multi-block walk away and the hotel’s “validation” for parking only knocks it down from $45 to $36 a day. And the parking garage is just a regular city garage, where the employees are usually very short on patience and pleasantries.
