I loved to retro vibe and the room was really clean with a good AC. $12 Lyft to French quarter and parking was well-lit and in a courtyard which made it feel really safe. Met the owner & mgr who were both super! The neighborhood is sketchy but they do have camera coverage all around. Parking lot in courtyard area holds a lot of water but drains pretty quickly. Super clean inside room & even smelled good (which on motels doesn't seem to be the norm from my experience)! Cars can be parked in the spaces well off the street, and Uber-Lyft cars are never far away. There's a terrific cafe 3-5 minutes away on foot for breakfasts. The immediate neighborhood may not be safe after dark (as are many parts of New Orleans), but we adjusted our logistics and felt perfectly fine.
