Evie was a gracious host. The place was very clean and stocked with the proper necessities. The backyard courtyard space was a sweet little respite from the activity in the French Quarter. I would highly recommend this rental for couples/friends/family getaways. There are delicious cafes (fatma’s is amazing for breakfast!) and groceries within a reasonable walking distance. ##### Julia C. I hosted my sister's bachelorette party in this incredible home. The house is gorgeous, clean, and well-maintained. There were 13 of us and we fit comfortably (there are three full bathrooms which help when you have a large group!). There is space inside and out to relax, hang out, and enjoy a meal or a cocktail. Location is excellent. It truly is steps from the French Quarter and we walked everywhere we wanted to go. The host was accommodating and kind. I can't recommend enough. :) ##### Meghan M. ### 8/10 Good #### Robin M. 3 Oct 2020 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication Disliked: Location, listing accuracy #### Beautiful place, bad neighborhood The house was beautiful and met all of our needs. The owner was great to work with. The only issues were that the house is listed as a 4 bedroom 4 bath but the rent only includes the main house which is 3 bedroom 3 bath. That was very unclear and I wouldn’t have rented it if I knew that. The other issue is the neighborhood. I’ve been to New Orleans quite a bit and normally feel safe walking around the French quarter. This house is a little too outside the Quarter for safety. We made sure we always walked in a large group but we did have a “local” ring the doorbell and ask us for a handout. ##### Robin M. To start - looking for a place in New Orleans can be tricky because some locations are very sketchy - but not this one! We were literally in an awesome location. Walking distance to everywhere we needed to go (Bourbon St, restaurants, etc) or a 3-5 min Uber Ride to other places (Frenchmen Street, etc). We were there for a bachelorette weekend and the house was perfect for 8 of us. The house is HUGE and renovated with all modern fixes. It was absolutely beautiful and we could feel the history there. There is a great backyard area and upper deck that we could sunbath and play cards on also. The best part of everything is the owner. They were so easy to work with and accommodating. I wish more folks were like them because they truly made our trip seamless and wonderful. They gave an awesome recommendation to attend the legendary "Lil Dizzy's" which is right around the corner (literally a 1 minute walk around the corner) and the food was phenomenal. If you are looking for a SAFE place that sleeps folks comfortable, great location, and a wonderful owner - please book this place. It was truly amazing!! ##### Jocelyn F. ### 6/10 Okay #### Gail B. 5 Apr 2022 Liked: Check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy Disliked: Cleanliness #### Final Four Family Renting the property was easy. The home is very nice and roomy. Our main complaint was cleanliness. The floors and rugs were filthy. The kitchen counters were crusty. Owners quarters were clean and nice. The picnic table out back is broken. Do not sit on it. Over all, we all enjoyed our stay. ##### Gail B. Came to NOLA with a group of friends. The house fit our needs perfectly. It was just close enough to French Quarter. Evie the host was easy to to get hold of and communicated well. ##### Matt R. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Lynn F. 17 May 2019 #### Walking distance to JazzFest!! We had a great time and would recommend this lovely house!! ##### Lynn F. Stayed 5 nights in May 2019 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Annette D. 11 Apr 2019 #### Great house and location Six friends and I stayed here for an extra long weekend. Our host Evie was great. She responded quickly to questions and requests. The house is in a great location - not too close to the Quarter but not too far. The house was plenty big for the 7 of us (3 bedrooms and 3 baths). There are a couple of nearby restaurants with great food and a very local atmosphere - Lil Dizzy’s and Hank’s. ##### Annette D. Everyone easily found a place to sleep, it was clean, and close to the French Quarter. There is a corner store across the street and several places to eat nearby. Everyone had a great time and agreed it was a great place to stay with a large group. ##### Andrew G. The house was very spacious and had all the amenities you could ask for. The owners unit was a great addition and also very nice and spacious. The large upstairs deck and backyard were a nice addition to the already large house. The location of this house was ideal, i have never been to New Orleans before so was a little nervous about being in a good location, this house did not disappoint. Short walks to French Quarter and had convenient stores and coffee shops very close by as well. The owner was very helpful and extensive with every step of the process and made our stay that much better. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for the full New Orleans experience. ##### Brian K. We stayed for a long weekend for my sister's bachelorette party which included 15 people and not only was the house beautiful but we had more than enough room for all! A gorgeous kitchen with nice open spaces that allowed everyone to feel as though they were together, while the upstairs and the owners sweet provided some privacy for those that needed it. The location is amazing we were able to walk down to Bourbon Street during the day. When we did take an uber it was only $5-7! All around we had an amazing time and can't thank Evie enough!! ##### Caitlin H. Stayed 4 nights in Mar 2018 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Trish E., Chapin, South Carolina 11 Jan 2018 #### Sugar Bowl Success We had a grand time in the Seventh Ward in this restored French Quarter home for the Sugar Bowl festivities. Evie is wonderful to work with and so helpful! She sends information about restaurants, things to do in NOLA, walking excursions from the house and is available to answer any questions or texts at any time! The neighborhood is great for its convenience to downtown and even a six year old can handle the walk. The house is very clean and well taken care of with anything you may need! We had a cross section from 65 to 6 and loved being there. Quick groceries are just a block away and Dizzy's Diner nearby is amazing! There's a wonderful coffee shop just a couple of blocks that has great breakfast and lunch. NOLA is far more than just Bourbon Street! We would love to come right back to this house when we come again! ##### Trish E. It was a great house for 11 people (5 couples) as everyone had a bed. Owners unit was nice as well. House was well kept and in a decent location. We chose to uber places at night but had no problem walking around during the day. Great host notes before we arrived we were able to coordinate rides from the airport, hot spots, local spots, and an airboat tour. Would recommend! ##### Jeff D. The ceiling are very high, which makes everything feel even larger. I stayed with a group of 8 total women, and we had plenty of room. We cooked at home during the first night of our stay. I would recommend that Evie (our host) get some additional pans, serving dishes, and possibly some food storage containers. We used the oven, but only had 1 broiling pan to work with. I would also recommend that they get some additional towels. There were not quite enough to go around, and I ended up having to share (1) towel with my sister. Minor inconvenience, but definitely worth mentioning. The backyard was very quaint, and the string lights really added to the beauty of the space. There is a no shoes in the house policy, and there were slippers available in a basket for everyone by the front door, which I thought was very nice. There were multiple garbage cans on the side of the house, which made for easy cleanup when we were ready to check-out. This is within walking distance to the French Quarter, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay while visiting! ##### Lauren N. Lots of character and a reasonable walk/quick Uber to the French Quarter. We had a group of 9 girls and fit comfortably in this house. We loved having plenty of space to enjoy a meal and hang out together. The kitchen/living room area was awesome. The bathrooms were nice, and the outdoor areas were really cool. Also, they were very accommodating when I requested late checkout at the last moment. They provided us late checkout for our luggage for a reasonable fee. This was very helpful as our flight out wasn't until the nighttime! ##### Jan Margaret R. Everything is in prestine condition and is a short walk and cab ride over to the main parts of town. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Loved the location and the amenities!!!! ##### Kylie A. Nine ladies rented this house for a long weekend birthday celebration in New Orleans. There was plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms for all of us, and the location could not have been better. Half a block off Esplanade, so very close to the Quarter and Frenchmen area, but the house itself was quiet. We only had one car but never needed it, we walked almost everywhere. The balcony and backyard really takes this from a rental to something very special. Excellent space for coffee in the morning and winding down in the evening. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the kitchen has more than the basics, including a wine cooler. Honestly, there is so much good food to be had we cooked less than we thought we would. The owner had extensive and very accurate reviews of places near the house (Lil' Dizzy's and Buffa's was especially enjoyable) and is very responsive and easy to work with. I would not only recommend this house to a friend, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 5 Jan 2016 #### Perfect location in New Orleans! We had a group of 11 stay at this house, and we all loved it. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well, away from the craziness of the French Quarter but close enough that we could take the 5 to 10 minute walk to join in the parade (quite literally) if we wanted to. The balcony was perfect for coffee each morning. The Esplanade, which is a gorgeous historic boulevard just a few steps from the house that leads you to the French Quarter, makes for a lovely stroll and has several restaurants to choose from. The en suite bathrooms and bedrooms were plentiful. The large master sleeps two couples, while the bedroom with a queen and a twin bed was perfect for my sister, her husband, and their son. The other bedroom with a queen bed and love seat is a private little oasis. The kitchen was fantastic, spacious and more appliances than we could use! The owners were great and no one will be disappointed. It is a beautiful historic home, has everything you need and then some, and is in a perfect location.
