If you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting this is the perfect spot. The cabin is one of the few on the lake that retains its old-timey charm with just enough modern amenities to make things comfortable. It is a true getaway. I loved my stay here and look forward to a visit next year.
Wonderful spot to make summertime memories! The camp is cozy and comfortable - the ultimate setting to unplug and unwind. The lake is amazing. The camp is located at a quiet and private spot at the end of the lake, and provides a great opportunity for all of your favorite water activities! With wonderful hosts who are great with communication and support, and extremely helpful with any questions or concerns - this is the perfect lakeside get-away!
If you want peace and wuiet this cabin is for you. At the end of the lake there is little noise except for the loons on the water. All the furnishings are adequate and comfortable. The best features are the screened in porch for enjoying your meals and the deck for sirring, reading and relaxing. If you are looking for a low key, relaxing vacation this quiet yet close to town location has it all.
We enjoyed our stay at the Bither cottage. It is rustic but comfortable. The waterfront is easily accessible and a great place for kids to play and swim. We hope to return another time.
This is such a nice little camp for a family vacation. The lake is so peaceful and great for swimming with young kids. There is lots to explore kayaking and some very friendly loons out on the water! The cell service can be pretty spotty but the Wi-Fi works great. Really enjoyed being in a spot that felt so private yet still close to town for groceries and restaurants. This was the third time our family stayed here and second time bringing our dog. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back!
This is an old fashioned camp, but with the update of electricity and indoor plumbing. It maintains that rustic camp life feel with a little more comfort. I will note that this is a bring your own sheets and towels rental.
This is our 2nd year staying, and our 2nd amazing experience. Cozy camp, private and peaceful spot on the lake. So much family fun! We will be back next year!!
This was our second time spending a week in August at this adorable little camp. We loved our stay! So private, the lake was perfect for swimming and fishing and we spent plenty of time exploring in the paddleboat. So nice to unwind and unplug! We can’t wait for next time, thank you!
We had a wonderful stay here, would've like it a little cleaner and the canoe we were told was there for us to use had a big hole in the bottom so we couldn't use it. We did enjoy ourselves.
This is an authentic Maine camp, no frills, but clean and well equipped with the basics. Our goal was to unplug and relax and this property provided the perfect setting. We enjoyed watching the loons from the deck, almost daily visits from a bald eagle, and even caught a glimpse of the otters. Great communication with the owner throughout. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get away from it all.
The property is a "no frills" camp that has absolutely everything needed for a wonderful stay. There is a fire pit and wood burning stove. The bedrooms are comfortable but sparse. The deck and screened in porch offer the most spectacular view of the lake. There is a canoe and paddle boat. There is also plenty of seasoned firewood. I would totally recommend this property fo a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Beautiful stay
Our over all experience here at the cabin was beautiful. The cabin in itself was not. It is a cabin so with that in mind, the glass is single pane. Meaning you can stand on the otherside and have a conversation. It is not well insulated hence the wood stove. The cabin was not cleaned prior to our arrival. Not sure if that was on the "maintenance manager" or the last guests. The red couch was covered in dog hair and black stains make sure you bring furniture covers. I went to Walmart thats about 10min down the road for alot of things. The toilet seat was broken. The rugs throughout the cabin were soiled. The cabin is about 3hrs from Acadia Park. We went for the day and came back woke up the next morning and found the paddle boat we left in the water was gone. (the canoe in the listing has a crack in the front. Paddle boat was provided.) I text Alison in a frantic manner as we thought someone had taken it. Turns out the maintenance man did and didn't bring it back. He put it in storage for the year. That stinks, that was part of the listing/perks as to why we chose this place. That was the 3rd day we were there. We had 2 days left and no boat or anything to go back out into the lake with. There's a picnic table out on the island. You can putz around the calm lake on the boat. It's really nice , it is. We ended up cutting our vacation short due to the above reasonings.
Location is everything. The camp is right on the water at the end of the lake, making the view and wildlife spectacular. The sunrises are so lovely and the mist rising from the lake in the mois setene
If you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful location this is it. Everything you need is right handy (although no tv and internet -fine with me). Lovely screened in porch for eating, beautiful deck on which to watch the loons and almost no noise. Love it.
We loved everything about our stay at this camp! It has everything you would need for a wonderful camp experience. We really enjoyed the privacy provided by being at the end of the lake. The listing stated it included a canoe and paddle, which were not there. This wasn't a big issue for us, as we brought our own fishing kayak, but may be a bigger deal for others. The big front window and screened in patio provided a beautiful view of the lake, even on cooler or rainy days. As a lifelong Maine resident, and having grown up spending time at my grandparents' camp, I can definitely attest that this property truly is an authentic Maine camp! We will definitely be back next summer.
Typical Maine lake camp experience. Clean and tidy place.
Near local rural golf course and gourmet restaurant.
Loon family with 2
offspring serenaded us nightly.
No tv but wh needs that.
Would have liked a canoe or boat with this rental package to cruise the lake.
Host is very helpfu and cordial l when contacted
