Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Neerhespen?
The best area to stay in Neerhespen is within the village itself, particularly around the main road, Hespengouwstraat.

Neerhespen is a small, quiet village located in the Flemish countryside, characterised by its rural setting with open fields, traditional farmhouses, and a slow pace of life. Hespengouwstraat runs through the centre, connecting the few local amenities, such as the church and any small shops or eateries. The village is compact and easily navigable on foot or by bicycle.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat, staying directly within Neerhespen offers a wonderfully relaxing experience. You'll find opportunities for long walks or bike rides through the surrounding orchards and farmlands, enjoying the tranquil environment. It's an ideal base for unwinding and enjoying the quiet of the Belgian countryside.

Travellers looking for a base to explore the wider region will also find Neerhespen convenient. Its central location in Flemish Brabant makes it easy to access nearby towns like Tienen or Landen, which offer more facilities and train connections to larger cities like Leuven or Brussels.
When is the best time to go to Neerhespen?
The best time to go to Neerhespen is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September.

This period offers the most pleasant weather for exploring the Belgian countryside, with warmer temperatures and less rainfall. It's ideal for outdoor activities like cycling or walking through the Haspengouw region, known for its orchards and natural beauty. The longer daylight hours also mean more time for sightseeing and enjoying the tranquil surroundings.

Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will appreciate Neerhespen during these months. The agreeable weather allows for leisurely strolls through the village and surrounding fields, and many local eateries will have outdoor seating available.
