If you have ever seen an image of the Republic of North-Macedonia, it will almost certainly be of the cute little church of St Jovan Kaneo on a clifftop rising up from Lake Ohrid. That lake is one of the oldest in the world, almost certainly the oldest in Europe, and among the deepest too. A comfortable place to stay. The hosts are super helpful and kind. About 15-20min walk to old town area. Quite a lot of building works happening in the area (July 2025), but didn’t disturb us too much. Plenty of space in the apartment and good air conditioning.
