Pocket Guide: Bengaluru National Law School of India University Hotels

Visit the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru

The prestigious National Law School of India University, or NLSIU, was the first ever National Law University in India. To visit it, head to the residential neighbourhood of Nagarbhavi, in the west of the city.

There is great demand and extreme competition to get into NLSIU, and all prospective students must take the Common Law Admission Test as part of the process. With around 40,000 people applying for places and so few spots available – an intake of around 160 across its programmes - National Law School of India University is one of the most competitive entrance exams in India.

Hotels near the National Law School of India University

Colloquially known as the Law School, NLSIU is close to a number of modern mid-range and budget hotels, including accommodation from the Indian hotel chains Treebo and OYO Rooms. Try the area around Magadi Main Road north of Hosahalli Metro station for hotels nearest to National Law School of India University.

There’s more accommodation back in Bengaluru city centre. Check out the area between Bengaluru City Junction Railway Station and Freedom Park for affordable independent hotels with few frills.

Or head to M.G. Road and Cubbon Park for a broader choice of mid-range and luxury hotels with pools and full-service spas. This busy part of town has dozens of shopping malls and hundreds of restaurants and bars, so book a stay at one of its well-located hotels and put yourself right in the heart of the action.

Good Places to Relax in Bengaluru

Whether you’re a student, a business traveller, or visiting Bengaluru for pleasure, it’s always worth knowing where you can find the city’s most tranquil spots. Bengaluru is known as the Garden City because of its many serene green spaces dotted around town.

One of the most popular is Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, to the south of the CBD. This vast park is home to India’s largest collection of tropical plants, along with a glasshouse modelled on London’s Crystal Palace. Other Bengaluru parks include Cubbon Park, Freedom Park and the landscaped gardens of Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park, which puts on a nightly fountain show.
